Quidco is the only cashback site I have used, and I have found it very reliable with only a small number of missing transactions. Almost all of these were paid eventually, after an enquiry was raised.
I've had getting on for £500 cash back over the 3 years I have been a member, and I have recommended them to others who have also been pleased.
I think the Quidco service has improved even further recently. They now send email confirmation of transaction tracking.

Quidco has been brilliant for me, having received nearly £1000 over the last 2 years.

Sometimes the money comes through quickly, taking less than a month, but more often it takes 3 months for the money to come through. I have even waited over 9 months for the cashback to be paid, but so far have been paid for everything I've used Quidco for.

I have used other cashback sites but Quidco is my favourite.

I've being using Quidco for just over a year, we've had no issues with them so far, some items have taken over 6 months to pay out but we were warned this would be the case when buying through Quidco (esure & sheilas wheels are very slow to payout)

It's advised to clear your cache and cookies before using Quidco, this ensures that if you have browsed the merchants site beforehand that any cookies that may interfere with the tracking have been removed and you are browsing with a clean slate, likewise if you buy multiple items through the same merchant (i.e: multiple car insurance policies), clear the cache and cookies between each purchase.

I only joined in Oct 2008 and so far all but 2 transactions from the same merchant: mobiles.co.uk have not tracked, still waiting as have sent a ticket through.
Sent another ticket with another merchant and yes I was paid what was due. Just renewed my car ins and it has tracked as well so am pleased with them, no quibbles.
The only problematic merchant was esure and I discovered I was not the only one so will stay away from them, best to check quidclans or blogs to see which merchants to avoid if you are new to the site though.
Please God if you can't make me rich, make my friends poor!
  • I have found that Quidco usually pay the best rates and track fairly reliably. Those which haven't tracked for me have usually been paid after I raise an enquiry - I always put a note in my diary of the first date I can raise an enquiry whenever I buy anything through Quidco, just in case.

The ticket-raising system is a bit annoying but you usually get a response quite quickly, although sometimes it is a bit of a copy-and-paste of a standard answer so you sometimes have to pester a bit to get them to actually read your query properly.

The only transactions I've had declined so far, despite complying with all the conditions, were ones for a few quid for signing up to something e.g. video games rental, magazine subscription, so I guess they (either the merchants or Quidco) figured out I was only signing up for the incentive.

You do have to be *incredibly* patient sometimes, it often seems to take months (I've had ones lag for 12+ months) for transactions to plod through tracked, validated, received and paid. The way the 'estimated payout date' ticks over every month can often feel like a bit of a mickey take, especially for those 'big' insurance/mobile phone transactions. I like that other cashback sites give you a definite date.

I thought the whole 'Quidclans' thing was a bit pointless - just an infinite number of tenuously named forums for people to gripe on. I gather the former director of Friends Reunited is now heading up Quidco (a grave concern for many users, given the fate of that particular enterprise) so perhaps wanted to keep some form of social networking on his website. Anyway, there is one extremely useful Quidclan - the 'Moan Zone' which, at the time of writing, *is* being monitored by Quidco staff and I had a couple of those 12+ month lags investigated and solved within 24 hours of mentioning it in the Moan Zone.

Overall I'm giving 4/5. Quidco *was* brilliant, has not been quite as good of late. I would recommend friends and family use it but would strongly emphasise Martin's point about not banking on the cashback until it's actually cleared in your account, as I would be concerned about the embarrasment it would cause me if my recommendation didn't pay out for a pal. I think though that Quidco are seriously worried due to recent extensive negative feedback and have started to turn it around. Time will tell.
  • At one stage, Quidco would have received top marks from me but their inability to satisfactorily answer my questions regarding my Co-op Motor Insurance delayed payments (6 months at present) has made me stop using them and give them a poor rating.

I only ever log into the site to see if my money has been received now. (No it hasn't). If Quidco carry on as they are, they'll lose a lot of business to other sites.

Used to be a big fan but it's too unreliable now ........... in fact it's very reliable in what it does (with me).

It's 100% with small amounts. Over 2009 I've probably had maybe 20 small items track & progress properly.

My 100% unreliability is with the large items : £55 '3' Mobile, £120 Vodafone, £75 Car Ins, £25 Green Flag.

I'm at the point where I no longer use it, I'm just so sure the substantial amounts won't track. And the small amounts will just mop up the £5 fee - so there's no point ! I've switched to TCB.

As an example - that £75 car ins was taken out in May. Didn't track. I had to wait 3 months before I could even raise a ticket, so August. Ticket raised August and Quidco have two months to accept/decline, so (end of) October is the earliest it can validate. Then I have to wait for Quidco to get the funds & pay-out.

I don't believe it's from my end. It's the same laptop/firewall/anti-virus that tracks fine with small but not big. And these tracking problems only really started towards the end of 2008.
  • Had just under £2000 back in 18 months - can't complain as this was for stuff I'd have bought in any case.

Occasional glitch - one insurance company took 15 months to pay the £95 they promised - but the money did arrive eventually.

So for me, it is ace. The 8% of M&S at the moment is fab.

OK for the small amounts which you can afford to lose if they don't pay out, but I'm still trying to get them to pay around £150 on two insurance policies, months after payment should have been made. The responses they give are unhelpful, and I won't be using them again for anything big.

There are more reliable sites out there (such as Topcashback) that still pay 100% - and don't charge a £5 annual fee.

Even Quidco's own blog (check it out) shows that there are serious problems with payment.
