i wish i'd never bothered also they don't know what they are doing never return calls - still don't know when they are going to collect all the stuff they delivered to me. i also can't get a straight answer on the alternative they have offered me but to be honest its a case of believe it when i see it now.
they have charged my credit card for my original order but the promised refund of postage not yet been credited although that was actioned last Thursday - thoroughly fed up and getting grief from my DD who was promised a computer this is enough to drive me to PC World i could cry ...i'm living in a parallel universe0 -

I truley empathize with you hun, their shoddy treatment knows no bounds. i'm very aggitated with BT and the way they handle things. i hope you get somthing sorted out soon. i have phoned up and cancelled my order as i dont want to waste another day of my life of waiting for non existant calls or undue stress. i also notified them of my report to watchdog. lets see how they like their own treatment ;-)0 -

Same thing happening hereexcept I was contacted a week ago and told my order was not available and they would send me a HP system with delivery on Tuesday (just gone) which never happened. Very dissapointed with BT over this.

Yeah i know what you mean hun, my story is pretty much the same, with promises of an upgraded HP machine with delivery on tuesday, and i took the day off to wait for the delivery. since then just chasing my own tail in this company! if it helps, i have felt alot better since i cancelled my order lol :rotfl: because i am no longer waisting my time with them. i'm sure a good deal will come out again, from hopefully a much better company!0 -
I was offered a MUCH upgraded model over the £249 model I had ordered, but I still await a delivery date.
If they deliver the Dell 5150 (3.2 processor, 1gb Ram, 250Gb hard drive, 256mb graphics, 9in1 card reader, ethernet card etc.) that they have offered then I will be very happy.
Jury still out for me on BTShop performance, but their offer is very fair (if they live up to it soon).:cool:0 -

I agree this has been a pain for some people but persistency pays off. I just phoned or emailed BT every day and eventually they agreed to refund £60 for the late delivery and because the machine was not as specified, for which I am very happy. I paid about £290 for a really good 3.4GHz P4. Swapped over the graphics card, installed a memory card reader and it's super.
And in all fairness to BT the women in Northern Ireland who answer the phone have been the nicest telephone staff I've dealt with in a long time. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
cheek of it!! BT have finally rang me back and said the alternative is no longer availiable but i can have the 3000 for an £80.00 less than the 5100
bear in mind i ordered the £249.99 with works and they are offering the 3000 with works for £ 169.00 a whole £20 more that on the website - when i pointed this out she said the warehouse had upgraded it considerably for me and sent it when the 5100 was out of stock and they said to offer the reduction. am i being took for a !!!!!! or what.
Anyway had a look at the spec on the website and its a Celeron advertised but there is a pentium 4 sticker on the case - so how can i find out for definate what they have sent me - i will get hubby to plug it in later but is there anything on the box or case that will tell me what ive got at least then i know what to try and knock them down to.... the advertised price at leasti'm living in a parallel universe0 -

Try pushing the F2 key when you have connected a monitor and a keyboard to your computer, that will bring up your bios page and you can see the specs of the computer there.0 -

Look on the box and there should be a Dell Service Tag number.. it probably won't say it is a service tag number but mine is JLN032J ... so look for a 7 letter/digit code. The put that code in this link...
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/my_systems_info/en/details?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=2
It will tell you what is in your box. If you want you could post your service tag here so someone could tell you what you have got.0
