Was told that the computer was over-ordered and that is now out of stock. My words cannot be repeated here. Explained that I ordered Saturday and that many people who have ordered days later have recieved thiers.
They are now checking on getting another spec computer sorted out at the same price.
Have email the Chairman and Chief exec of BT to express my dissatisfaction!0 -

I ordered early on Sunday and have just spoken to BT to try and find out where it is. It has not been dispatched yet (even though we've paid for 2-3 day delivery), there is a major problem with the supply chain of this model. Apparently the 'Operations Director' is on to the problem with the warehouse and I am expecting a call from BT later today for a fully updated picture.
After speaking to the (very sympathetic and helpful) call centre man, it would not surprise me at all if we never receive our computers.
On a different note, I also ordered a 17 " Dell Monitor at the same time. I tested it on my old computer (which currently has a 17" CRT monitor), tried to boot up the computer, and now the computer won't work at all. My new monitor has broken my old computer. THe computer 'on' light comes on for a second and then just turns itself off. Any suggestions as to why this may be?
Yeah my mum ordered the £329 one - is very happy with it too and enjoying her new toy0 -
Just chased my £349 one up with BT on the phone. Looks like City Link have twice tried to deliver it to the wrong address this week (card left at the wrong address on the initial attempt, then goods refused the second time)! God knows where they allegedly tried to deliver it. Grrrrrr.
Anyway, off to the depot to pick it up - wonder what will be in the box!?0 -

why is it each time you talk to the callcentre they say the previous person misinformed you... anyway they are fetching the PC and 2 monitors and they are going to see if they can get me the machine i oringinally ordered - after reading later posts i am not hopeful - good news they have refunded my P+P.
to be cheeky would i be able to install the Works Suite i have some Office stuff but think its all separate rather than a bundle if thats possible - would it work and if so would i get found out?i'm living in a parallel universe0 -
Got my 17" monitor today (still waiting for the computer) - surprised to see no built-in speakers which were definately shown on the spec page before (forgot to print it though) - the spec page now shows no built in speakers, definately changed.
A bit miffed but I suppose I'll stick with the quality of Dell.
Has anyone else noticed the changed spec on the web page?0 -

Normally you would be right for anyone with more use of a PC than browsing the net or sending receiving emails I wouldn't touch a Dell with a barge pole.
They have very poor graphics and the power supply mobo set up make it difficult to upgrade. If you want to play games at high resolutions building your own is often the moneysaving option.
BUT in this instance the prices on these dell PC where very good if you got one with its own dedicated graphics slot at say around £229 you wouldn't have been able to build one cheaper even including spending £100 on a decent graphics card.Plus they came with warrenties and software (remember a copy of XP goes for around £60) so all in all a bargain by anyones standards IMHO0
