Rang up to find out where mine, is to be told that it hasn't been released for delivery because billing and delivery addresses have to be the same. Therefore cant deliver to my work address.

Not really sure that I can be a**ed to go through with this given the unpredicability of the delivery schedule.

I ordered the £249 version. Am I mad to just give it up given what everyone seems to have / have not received ?

It looks like all the manufacturers are currently cutting their prices anyway ...

I ordered the £329 version on Sunday evening along with a 17" TFT, both from BT. Monitor arrived Wednesday am and the PC arrived Thursday am. I am delighted, very pleased and a big thanks to the OP.

Hi. I ordered the 5150 system with works on tuesday at about 3pm. It then said on the bt shop system in my orders that it had been released for delivery. I also chose express delivery and if the order was done before 4pm it would arrive the next day. Unfortunately it did not and it hasn't appeared today as of yet. So I phoned up bt to ask them what was happening. She said there was a problem with the warehouse and that she would get back to me next week. She also said that it had not been released for delivery but why did it say that after a couple of hours I ordered on the website?

Can anyone else tell me how long yours took and if it said released for delivery on the website also.

    Thanks,

Hi, They have now got back to me and said that they have no more 5150 dells in stock even though I ordered on Tuesday and it said released for delivery. Absoultely shocking, they are now trying to offer me the Dell 3100 which is at £299, at the same price as the 5150. But a dearer price for a not so good machine, doesn't make sense.

I ordered the £349 deal in the early hours of Wednesday, & have popped home to check for delivery.

My 2001 Dell running Windows Me had been limping along reasonably happily despite being slightly disabled by symantec in it's infancy and further impaired by a trojan attack years ago. Thought I was playing it safe by not getting the XP option when I bought it, oh how wrong could I be? None of the system tools operate & further recent tinkering when I had a mind to add some more storage space buy XP & re-install everything has, I fear, sounded the death knell so you can imagine my excitement when I noticed this thread. I even got an XP for dummies book from the library today in preparation.

Just logged on to BT to see that my order status is "released for dispatch" (nothing showing on my credit card account, but wouldn't necessarily expect it to just yet) so I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread in between regular trawls at Dell Outlet.

I feel really sorry for those people who ordered nearly a week ago. Just hope this old pc will last until this debacle is resolved.

Not true, because I had mine delivered to work with no problems. In fact they specifically give you the option for just this reason. I suspect there is a different problem which they are covering up.
My machine (5150) was ordered on Saturday at 6:20pm and delivered on Thursday at about 3:30pm. I emailed them to ask for my delivery to be refunded and have had no reply yet.
I'm not surprised that BT have had to get an Operations Director on to this because the telephone staff can't get through to "The Warehouse", although they weren't prepared to tell me where this is, only that it is a different company (presumably Dabs.com?). They sent a number of emails to the Warehouse following my calls, but never phoned me back like they said they would.

p.s. 3100 for £299 is daylight robbery! I bought one from Dell a few weeks ago for £250 including a 15" TFT.

For those who have been told By BT that Dell 5150 is out of stock, amazingly I have just received an email from "BT Shop" at 3.51 pm on Friday to tell me

    "Dear Customer
    Thank you for visiting https://www.bt.com/shop.

You asked us to send you an email when the following items are back in stock:

DELL HIGH END DESKTOP DIMENSION 5100
It recently came back into stock and is now available for you to buy. Please click here to order this product."

And if you go to the web page it does indeed show as being in stock (only the "basic version" at £329, not the version including "Works Suite" at £349).

    Oh the wonders of BT!!

EDIT: It was showing as being in stock, but now 10 minutes later it is showing as "out of stock" again.
