Wahoo! Just phoned BT (for the 2nd time today) to ask where my PC is and no-one has any idea. They are emailing the warehouse to ask them!

I also emailed on Sunday to ask what video card was in this PC and BT replied today saying they have no idea 'cos that's technical and suggested I phone Dell! If only Curry's adopted that approach it would make buying a washing machine a lot of fun wouldn't it? "How fast does this spin? Sorry mate, you'll have to call Candy in Italy and see if they know."

To be fair to BT the two ladies from Northern Ireland that I spoke to today were excellent - answered phone within 1 ring, very polite and calm. Now all BT need to do is put those women in front of the Dabs shop and they might just have a working business model for selling IT equipment.

They just make it up in Curry's - at least they told the truth at BT! To be fair to Dabs (and it is hard to be sometimes) their ordering and delivery system was fine for me. You get emails through the despatch process and a tracking number for Amtrak so you know when the goods are arriving. Not being able to ring them is not good customer service though....

Just had a phonecall from BTSHOP explaining they haven't got any stock of the base model and are having problems with other Dell models.
I've been offered an HP Pavilion A1210 for the same model or there is the possibility of a del 3100 at £299 which is a bit of a difference to the £129 option or I can cancel.

Anone know anything about the HP A1210. I have to ring back 0870 number tomorrow with a decision.

i phoned bt and the very nice irish guy said that it would be about 5-6 days for my pc to come, its in the warehouse ready for dispatch :rolleyes2
