"Bullying" on the forum

Afternoon everyone

It's really sad to say we've received multiple claims and counter-claims of bullying on this board and in PMs between people who use this board recently. It's really not a nice thing to hear, especially as this is one of the friendliest boards on this forum.

The forum team, myself and others in the team involved just can’t keep dealing with this kind of thing.

As we're not going to spend valuable time on this, that could be used saving people money, if we get more reports of it continuing the forum team may be forced to take steps against all the user accounts involved, however long you've been a site user.

i've not noticed any bullying but i have noticed the odd disagreement and sometimes it does seem the responses are disproportionate compared to the subject being discussed and the advice/answers given.

i know there are a few people who are just will never get along (not going to even think of naming names!)

it is a shame it might have to come to this esp as this was a very friendly board when i first joined.

I have not been on here as much recently, but in the times I have I have not really noticed anything. This said, if there have been complaints then something must have been going on!
I think people need to agree to disagree, remember to respect others, and also remember when you ask a question you will invariably get a multitude of responses (although none should be rude or aggressive of course).
Ok, thats me said my piece. This is a great board and lets keep it that way!

I noticed quite a bit of that on the travel forum..especially. People come to this forum for help with various topics and they don't need some some smart@ss thinking they know it all come with a rude remark and if someone (such as myself) say something in the persons defense the bully (or the bullies "friends") starts more mess which to be honest is NOT why we are here.
We are all money-savers in some way and if you don't have anything nice to say...don't say it!

I agree with Kittie, I've not seen any bullying on here either. This message has only been posted on the OS board (so far) so it must involve some of us OS-ers.
That's sad cos I've always found this to be the most welcoming of the MSE boards imo.
I hope the guilty parties learn to behave themselves so the OS board is as friendly for all the newbies we have, and for the older members too (so they stick around and share their wisdom with us.)

Well sadly, some people (I won't name names) like to make others feel or look like idiots and again, sadly it does scare some people away. If a poster is way out of line I will click the report button.

I hope MSE forum doesn't get out of hand with bullies, etc. because it's a really useful website.

i find you all to be very nice, and welcoming. i hope no one is getting bullying. i ask silly questions cant spell to save my life and no one said anything. i havent been hear that long but yay im glad i have met such nice ppl not not ran in to any mean ppl.

Thanks for that Andrea. I hope any bad feeling between posters can stop and people can concentrate on helping those in need.
