Then again can i be 100% sure that ive read replies as they were intended?
I don't believe that I've engaged with you at all on the forum, cooking-mama so I'm really not aiming this at you. This is a very fair point that goes for any form of text-based communication. You can't convey tone or para-language. It's easy to misinterpret what's being said. I'm sure that we're all guilty of this.

I feel sorry for people who feel the need to be sarcastic or smart, they quite often are unhappy or lonely souls.
I disagree completely. Sarcasm is fun (when it's not malicious) and being smart (when it's not condescending) is being useful. This comes down to bullying specifically though, I feel.

It's really sad to say we've received multiple claims and counter-claims of bullying on this board and in PMs between people who use this board recently. It's really not a nice thing to hear, especially as this is one of the friendliest boards on this forum.

    Andrea :)

That may be, but surely the ratio of these claims to the amount of people who post on the OS forum would be very slight indeed. Be interesting to read just how many people claim they are being bullied.

I'm surprised OS board has been singled out as well. I think some people no matter where they post will always strive for some conflict. TBH I wouldn't waste valuable time on it either.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

OS is friendly & a lovely board where people try to help each other.

But I have had a few curt remarks from long standing OSers because I didn't want to do as they told me too.

Composting was one I remember. Now I didn't ask anyone for advice about composting I just answered another that I agreed with them that visitors would be my worry too. I had a few regular OSers telling me I should compost & I was just making excuses!

Then someone said how dare I ask for advice & not take it:rolleyes:

But I never asked for advice on composting, I just answered a post that someone had said why they didn't like the idea & I agreed with them.

I agree it can be dificult if you don't know the name of a particular thread, but I think most times, people don't use the "search titles only", and if they did it would (nine times out of ten) find the relevant thread. That's just how I use it anyway :D

    I didn't know you could do that:beer:

    Learnt something already:D

OS rocks. Long may it remain a peaceful and helpful place.

I would have rang my Gran to ask her a lot I find out on here, so for me, it's my wee comfort too (as she is no longer with us)

Actually - I find personally that the best way to search for something on MSE is to do a Google search for it = put "word/s required" + www.moneysavingexpert.com in my Google search box and I tend to find it that way. HTH

Fair enough - you asked for advice on waste disposal units, and then engaged in the discussion about composting. Do you believe you were bullied at that point?

I'm getting strong vibes that I'm being labelled a "bully", despite no malice intended on my part. I'll be seriously considering my position on MSE today, and contacting Andrea directly.

Well - hopefully we can all get back to what we do best - ie swopping O.S. hints and tips.

I've certainly picked up loads of helpful tips and just to quote today, for instance, there's been:
    - the famous watering-down the milk tip (I have now swopped from skimmed milk to full-fat/watering it down)
    - using halogen heaters (instead of the fanheaters I used to use)
    - if my bed feels a bit chilly come bedtime - I'll give it a quick blast with a hairdryer (I didn't bother to replace the last electric blanket when it gave up the ghost on me)
    - I'll be making a pudding shortly from a recipe I picked up on this board
    - hopefully I'll get time to make another recipe I picked up as well from this board

...and that's a pretty typical days worth of moneysaving efforts these days...:D

Ohhh was going to buy an electric blanket as the youngest kicks up a big fuss and refuses to get into a cold bed, Hubby hates the idea of water bottles incase she opens it, have been stumped big time on this!!!
Hair dryer why didn't I think of that!!!
    Thanks soooo much!!!!:T

Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone ;)

Actually it was rammed down my throat that I should be composting & my reasons for choosing not too were "excuses"

I distinctly remember being told "how dare I come on here asking questions & then refuse to take the advice".
I had to point out at that stage that I had NOT asked for advice about composting.

    This is the thread

This is where it starts to get unpleasant

I didn't remember you were the main "person" on that thread till now.
Just mentioning that as you picked on my post & said you felt this thread was aimed at you.
