Evening
Well, no news on the contract, but have got meetings booked in with Manager for January, so.....
Apparently they have been through all the process to get the jobs filled, but there is a restructure going on, and they have hit another brick wall about job evaluation. It keeps me in work for a while though.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

morning
reading diaries this morning, quite a few people have been to office do's so there are a few tired people around.
This house is not at all xmassy and I need to do something about it, so one job for today is make the pastry for the mince pies. I may do the almond icing for the cake too.
DS and I had 'words' last night, so feeling yukk. He had been p*$$ed off with something that happened on Thursday night in work, is full of cold, and woke up in a foul mood. But no reason to take it out on me. He really needs to control his aggression, as he's a lot bigger than me, and I just find it frightening.
Today will be doing the normal, shopping, tidying, ironing, and maybe getting the tree. Depends on how co-operative DS is:(Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Oh gill ... sorry you feel that way. He probably doesn't realise he's oppressive for you - you're still *mum* to him. Christmas smells about the house - nutmeg, cinnamon and whatnot, and marzipan, I love marzipan - they can make a difference really quickly. I do a tree but nothing else, and a tree can look really lovely. Hope your day gets better.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I have done some basic tidying, took all the 'non christmas' candles and put them away, so any candles I light will be scented ones. I've also got the box of ornaments down so there are some oil burners in there. Have done cinnamon and orange oil in one, see what that does.
I've just cleaned the carpet in the living room, ready for the tree. One thing with getting a real tree, I think that's enough normally, as just the smell of it reminds me of Christmas.
kc - you're right that he doesn't realise, he always says he would never hurt me, but I can't deal with aggression and just get upset. He'll be an absolute angel today.
I've got a thumping headache and suspect its all connected.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Sorry to hear that you and DS had words
Hope it's sorted now....
My Christmassy feeling comes and goes. We don't normally get the tree until Mid December (or the week before), as I like to keep it magical - not put it up in November, as that's kind of waters it down for me.
As you say, the smell of the tree is usually enough to transform the house - that and a glass of Baileys in my case :rotfl:
Have a nice evening0 -
Morning
macgirl - I'm with you on not getting the tree too early, normally get it the weekend before, so, as you say mid December.
This year, that's probably a bit too close, and as DS is working that weekend, I'd have to go and pick it myself, and its not the same going on your own.
When DS was tiny, I used to put the tree up when he'd gone to bed on Christmas Eve - where did I find the time?
The row with DS is all sorted, it was 'all about nothing', and he starts the next day as if nothing has happened.
Spends yesterday
£37 - Mr M
£6.65 Butchers
£1.49 Co-op
... and out of that, all of the co-op stuff was for Mum, and about £15 of the rest, so actually quite good considering its near christmas. I bought some selection boxes too, as they are always handy to have in.
Mum is still having problems with her breathing, waiting for results of some tests, but I'm beginning to wonder if its something as simple as asthma, as she gets it worse if its cold or if she's upset.
So today will do some more ironing, but will be ruthless, things that haven't been worn for a while are going away un-ironed. Need to keep the pile down. And will clear the table to see if it can be collapsed easily.
My charity shop curtains are doing a good job on the back door, but the ones on the front door need a better way of attaching.
None of the stuff ordered from Play.com has arrived yet, but the stuff has been dispatched, so a bit annoyed at that, I know I can get them elsewhere, its just easier to have them delivered.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Deliveries are tricky, aren't they - I'm *fairly* well prepared on the presents this year, tho not great, but my delivery from M&S was a real washout. I'll find a substitute, but it just makes more work sometimes.
Hope you can get a bit of relaxation time today - and well done for keeping in touch with the spends. I've got all my receipts, but I've absolutely no idea what I've spent, its a little bit concerning, but I'm not worrying for now.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC- I know exactly what I've spent as I draw the cash out. I take my debit card with me, but that's just in case I see anything so bargainous that I have to have it.
My shopping list is a bit OCD really, each shop and approximate price of stuff/spend per shop.
One day I won't have to think about it, but at the moment its a necessity.
I am getting my little fridge later:TDebts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

You're so good that you're so disciplined with spends. I doubt I'll ever be like that even though I'm *much* better than I used to be.
Enjoy the new fridge!0 -
Yay to the new fridge! And yay to the *ability* to be OCD when needs must!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
