Getting out of my comfort zone

Thanks KC and macgirl
sometimes its just nice to have 'nice' things. They weren't horrenously expensive, just expensive for a little bit of stone IYSWIM. But they are soooo beautiful.
My jewelery making skills aren't that marvellous, i'm a bit kack handed, so may do a basic course to get the skills before I do anything.
I've just realised that I'll be quite well off this week; my timesheet for last week didn't get approved in time, so have 2 weeks pay coming on Friday from the old job, and then because of me forgetting to put a timesheet in a few weeks ago, will be getting paid twice next week from the Shropshire job.
Added to that the fact that I'll get paid the week between Christmas and New Year, but won't be spending much, I should start the new year OK.
So I may pay off the little cc before Christmas :TThat only leaves £1600 on the other cc and then the dreaded loan.

I am starting to look forward to the break over Christmas. I haven't had more than a day off since March! Home now, decided to come home tonight, because loads of the people I need to speak to are off sick, so may as well leave it until next week.
Bought some bits and bobs of Christmas presents, and Mum has rung to say that some parcels have arrived. Off to have a cuppa before The Apprentice.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning
In the new year I will definitely be looking for a contract closer to home, but with the cuts in local government spending, it may be a touch difficult as generally most of my work is in that area. In the meantime I'll take advantage of the work I've got, and see where it takes me. This contract has been set up for six months, but the work will be done in Feb, its just if they have anything else they want me to do.
DS transferred money into my account last night, and it still isn't there. normally only takes minutes. he's shown me the page on his internet banking and its definitely left his account, and its gone to the right account of mine, its already set up as a payee, so no idea where it is, but he will need to ring his bank later today.

I bet you are looking forward to a break. Hope the money is now safely in your account and not floating about in the ether

I can't log on to HSBC this morning so perhaps the systems are in trouble

I have been very tired the last day or two, so really looking forward to the break.
Money didn't appear in my account, but it *did* go back to DS account for some reason. Told him to just go and get the cash out, or alternatively, he can come shopping with me and pay on his card. That may be a bit of a wake up call for him.
Just finishing work, off home in a minute, going to pick some bits up in Sainsbo's on the way.
Oh yes, and brother has texted again re: Mum's present. He can't really leave it much later, can he?Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Drove home last night in a few flakes of snow, an hour later there was 2 or 3 inches. We avoided it last time really.
going to venture to local shops on foot to see how the main roads are, but not holding out much hope. Brother was stuck on M6 for hours last night, about 5 miles from home.
It means it will take longer as limited to what I can carry, but for now its easier. Will have to go out in car later to take mum some stuff, can't risk her being cold.
Still got to get food shopping done, hopefully veg delivery on Thursday will still be OK.
I've allowed myself some extra grocery money this week, but I suppose most people do. i've got my veg delivery coming, which costs more than normal, but saves me the hassle, and will last a while, and I won't be doing food shopping next weekend, and hopefully after this week, will only be buying basics for the next few weeks.
Still not sure what's happening Christmas day, but it will get sorted; sister and I don't drink so just working out logistics, Mum, DS and nephew to be collected from various places, at different times. And then Mum back home again.
