Glad you have finally been paid
I cringe every time Kirsty takes people shopping as I think my local charity shop would sell you that for a small fraction of the price...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for popping by folks and for your concern.
I got home safe, but it was a very slow journey and there were some total idiots on the roads, so was really stressed by the time I got home. It does make you realise the advantages of big cars, or even 4x4's. My poor little Ford looked lost amongst the lorries on the road. There are really only 2 ways back, one quicker, but narrow roads and the other which is more of a circle but better roads, so I went the long way, as lorries and such use that road, so I thought it would be easier. And also it headed vaguely west, as apparently there was less snow in Wales. Didn't feel like that when it was coming towards me. So glad I didn't go the 'quick' way, as suspect that parts of that may have been a bit scary.
Locally there was not much snow, but the side streets were like ice rinks. DS had the fire lit for me and had the kettle on as soon as I walked in.
macgirl - no haven't spent my money in that well know retail outlet, but I have plans...:D
I did do some pottering shopping today, Wilkinson, Home Bargains etc.
I also spent a really tiny amount of money on some really amazing stuff.
Buttons for my full length cardi thing 60p for a full set. (as it's missing too many to be able sensibly fasten it up, and its really warm on days like today when its cold and dry)
A couple of chinese type 'silk' purses £1 each, may use them to put presents in.
Hand made bracelets from the market £1 each, the guy also does those ones where you pick your own stones, can't remember what they're called, for a fiver.
A pair of heavy dark green curtains £3 !!!! in the charity shop, so will put one over back door and one over front door. Just need to work out exactly how. Kirsty eat your heart out!!
Working at old job tomorrow, only got another couple of weeks there, just to finish off, so will be able to pace myself a bit better after Christmas.
Thanks again, for your concern folks. Off to see what everyones been up to.

Good that you got back ok, but sounds like a pants journey.
:T Well done on the bargains and the curtains :T That's exactly what we need here. The back door feels like it's open as the wind whistles through it. You've inspired me to do a bit of charity shop mooching tomorrow - a la Kirstie.
Have a nice evening - what's left of it!0 -
****Proper money post alert *****
I've added up the contents of my various pots etc. and posted the total on the Sealed Pot Challenge. I'm really pleased with myself for not really dipping into it except for change for the car park over the year.
Total is £294.31
I think that brings a cc to less than £200 but will need to check once I've taken the actual money to the bank and then transferred it over. Well actually, going to take it to sister and she's paying it in for me.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
