For me that's the best thing about staying in hotels - pampering myselfGlad the first day was ok.
Hi DT :hello: I bought this wardrobe for little DD and it's a good size for a child without being too small, so they grow out of it. You could jazz it up with these...0 -
The other thing about hotels, breakfast. I am one of the people who can't face food until I've been up a while, at least 2 cups of tea before I start. And then I usually leave for work. So, having had my 2 cups of tea, it'll be nice for someone to cook for me.

Oh what luxury! Look at you compared to this time last year, now you're a high flyer again :T
Have a good day x0 -
Do you think it would paint as I don't think pink handles would cut the mustard as she keeps showing me this photo as her dream bedroom - I have already said the carpet will not be the same colour

DT - I take it that she is a 'girly' girl. A white carpet in a child's bedroom  - errm no.
macgirl - not sure high flyer is the word, but it sure feels different. I now earn more than I did a year ago, and feel more in control. Strange thing is, that I am nearer to being debt free as a result of being unemployed.
Last night I cheated about dinner as I had made pasta at home and had that for lunch so only needed a snack, so soup and bread with crackers and cheese. But couldn't do that today, so will need to go out and eat. That is a BIG step for me, as I am not that confident, so will look for something easy (and cheap) but not macdonalds.

That bedroom is fantastic!
I was allowed to have barbie pink on the woodwork when I had a bedroom of my own - very daring back in the day
gill - of course you cheated! At one stage, I was staying in hotels a lot when I was running charity schemes all over the country. It got very tiring to eat in restaurants all the time, especially as I was in a lot of small towns with no nice restaurants (over 20 years ago, remember!) What I started to do was go to an M&S or equivalent, and buy a green bagged salad, a couple of rolls, a mini cheese and a 3 bean salad or equivalent - and a big cake! And I'd snack all evening - much more relaxing, and of course I also had loads of paperwork I needed to.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hi gill hope you settle into the new job quickly
DT - that wardrobe will paint okay I reckon - it is also very solidly built as we had one. I also bought other furniture from a second hand shop and painted it mademoiselle pink - not sure if it was dulux or crown or what but the colour is staying fine several years later....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
