    Morning,

still got the sniffles, its not a 'proper' cold, more like a head cold, just makes me feel bleurgh; its really hard to sleep though as you're either sniffling, or need a drink.

I had intended to blitz the house a bit today, sister has offered to come over, as her idea of tidying is more thorough and more efficient than mine. She seems to get so much more done. Will see how I feel later, but am definitely going to do my bedroom; it accumulates the stuff that is *tidied* from everywhere else, and as I start with bathroom and kitchen, then do other rooms, it always gets left to last, so today am going to do it first.

So far, have put washing machine on, kitchen floor done, a couple of shirts ironed and am off to the shops in a bit.

Have a good day anyone reading.

Sorry you're feeling rubbish, that was me this time last week - so hopefully it shouldn't hang around too long.

As for tidying - our bedroom used to the be end dumping ground for everything in the house - and still is to a point as far as laundry is concerned.
If it were me, I'd let your sister come round, if she's good at it then she obviously enjoys it! I'd love a sister like that.

My friend called round yesterday morning, as she hasn't seen the new house. The first thing she said when she walked in was "Tell me you *are* getting a cleaner?" I think that in the new year I will think carefully about getting one and maybe someone to do my ironing. I don't like to admit I can't do it all, but when you work so many hours, there's little time for anything else.....

Hope you can relax and recouperate this weekend :)

    thanks mac

a few people on here have suggested getting a cleaner, especially with working away now, and I generally see it as a no go because of DS shifts. But have been thinking of asking an unemployed friend if she fancied a few hours work, because she could fit in around him. Will definitely give it a bit more thought.

Laughing at your friend, my ex SIL used to come to my house when DS was young and say things like ' I see you prioritise toys over tidiness' or ' still going for the just burgled look'. She was a stay at home mum, fortunately she didn't need to work, and couldn't see that the few hours I had with my son at the weekend were precious.

Made a start on my room, (well I stripped the bed and chucked everything off the floor and various chairs onto it), off to the launderette with bedding as I'll never get it dry. So now have no alternative, I either tidy up properly, or dump it all back on the floor. Have found an old dressing table stool thing of Mum's - why did she think I'd want something covered in blue velour with tassels?

I'm not sure we are actually related - she is slim, houseproud, and loves cleaning and ironing. She's also trained her children to be tidy, mine takes after me.
