Urghh, ironing is my least favourite domestic chore. DH took a basket to do yesterday, but won't do anything with darts or pleats etc, so it kind of defeats the object

Lol at the GP! I'm watching CBBC, so at least it's more stimulating than that! Hope you have a relaxing Sunday :)

That sounds a good solution ... I have a big Sainsbo and an Iceland within walking distance (in opposite directions, lol) and in one direction on the train I have a huge Tesco and a Lidl, the other a Lidl, and then a huge town a little further away with everything - but its a bus ride after the train. And the Asda in that town has a free bus ride from *my* town twice a week - but that would take maybe four hours, so what I'm going to do when things settle down is probably go there once every couple of months - its only for my beloved cheap pesto :D so I'll take a book or something :D

Four hours to a shop! I forget how easy it is living in a city. even without a car, there are lots of supermarkets just a bus ride away. The only thing that is difficult to get to is Aldi, but you pass 2 Tesco's and an Asda to get to it, so wouldn't bother.

EDIT: - the wonders of browsing history, this was the post I lost

Yep, there are advantages to living in a small town, and just as many to living in a big city!

NB - the four hours thing is there and back, its not *quite* that bad round here :o

EDIT - I'm glad you found your post!

    Morning,

have had a few restless nights so not feeling the best. I think its a combination of getting up early to watch Grand Prix, and the new job.

I've done as much preparation work as I can, but until I get there and speak to people its hard to get a feel for what needs doing. I know what they've told me but until I involve the people doing the work, its just the bosses perception; I know from experience how that usually works out.

I've spent some time on mysupermarket, playing around with recent bills and the best deal for me is Asda, but old habits die hard, and its impossible for me to get the spending high enough for free delivery, so will look out for codes etc. I think you can get cashback at quidco for Tesco, but need to check out Asda as haven't looked for a while.

Have got a conference call later with accountants, they sent me 18 texts last week and got 18 letters in the post yesterday, so I'm guessing I am well and truly on their system now.

    Have a good day all

Lol at the accountants - sounds like they are sh*tting themselves! Good, maybe they'll do the work for free this year, having c0cked up so royally - worth a go maybe.....

About the job, you are bound to feel a bit apprehensive, but as you said, it will all work out - it always does because you know what you're doing. Be positive :)

    Have a good day x

You sound really well prepared for the new job - and thats all you can be, you *know* you have the ability for it.

Re. supermarket deliveries, I suppose what I do is not do them routinely any more - I get them when I need them, which might suit you, especially as you want to keep some local shopping anyway.

    Have a good one.

I am officially now on the Accountants system, and have been told that I am keeping too many receipts! It's unlikely that HMRC will check, according to the woman I spoke to today; I think I'll go with better safe than sorry approach for now.

Spent some money today, bought more black trousers and a pair of shoes, all for work, as nothing really fits. But only spent £20, don't you just love Asda.

Tea is pasta and tomato sauce, still being careful about what I eat.

Off for a trundle round the diaries.

Absolutely, better safe than sorry ... and well done on the clothes shop! That free Asda bus that I could take, there's a George at that Asda, I'm really looking forward to going again :o
