Excellent news :T:T:T I can appreciate that at first you were just grateful to have some cash coming in, but now you're realising your worth and how you could become a higher earner. Good for you, I'm so pleased for you :)

    Hi mac and KC

Its funny how I've moved from one phase to another. When I worked full time and looked for other jobs, there were very few of them because there is a limited market and the skills are very specific to that market. Now I see that as an opportunity, in these credit crunch days, people may not want to take on new staff, but will take on someone short term with specific skills to help their business.

    Yey:j

Today is going to be manic. Into work this morning, see what has happened over the office with now IT facilities, hopefully get my own desk back; then off to Shropshire for a meeting and LUNCH!!!!
Then I'm going to a friends for tea, and hopefully while I'm out DS will go to Argos or PCWorld and pick me up a desk.

    Have a good day all.

    Evening guys

Had a really busy day, yesterday and a very strange night.

Discussions very positive, agreement in principle for me to do the job in Shropshire, they are in favour of me working long hours for less days to cut down on the travel, need to see it all in writing. Should get that tomorrow, have also spoken to accomodation agency to get a feel for availability etc. Have submitted an invoice to them for my time and they took me out for a very nice lunch. Initial agreement is for 3 long days, which will still give more money than now, but will have to pay lodgings. May also be able to work from home :jSo, watch this space.

Went to friends for tea, yet again my Chinese friend didn't cook the food she cooks best, but cooked spag bol. It was nice, but I can do that myself.

Was woken in the early hours by voices in living room. Next thing, flashing blue lights. One of his friends had chest pains for over an hour and had called ambulance, rather than going home as didn't want to wake his mum (but it was OK to wake me!). DS sceptical, expecting them to say it was indigestion, but they took friend off to hospital. Home now, but very scared by experience which was probably a combination of stress (recently lost job) lack of food, tiredness and alcohol.

So not only do I worry about my own, but now worry about someone else's too.

What a couple of days you've had! Hope the friend is okay - even youngsters need to eat sometimes, they kind of forget that.

Sorry your Chinese friend didn't cook Chinese food! I had that with an African friend - she put what she thought was Western amounts of protein (meat) into an ethnic dish - I'd been vegetarian for about a year at that time, oops....

Yep, I get all sorts of combinations from her, Italian being the current fave. She thinks she doesn't do Chinese food as well as her Mum - but her mum's not there and I am. But I shouldn't complain, at least I got fed.

Is it negative to say 'duh I'm so stupid sometimes'

I've been so busy sorting out my new contract etc. that I forgot to check my emails, and I'd missed an email from Memorygirl about her spreadsheet. So now will be focussing on that, should be able to smarten it up a bit.

DS has finally got his License dispensation which means he can work again, he has been trying to be careful with his money but difficult when he's stuck at home. So he'll be out from under my feet tomorrow night. Hopefully work will give him some extra shifts to make up for the lost money.

Got MG's book in the post today. I have never really *got* mind mapping, but need some of the skills for work. Glanced at the memorising stuff, I've always said that I don't 'see' things, and realised this when glancing through the book, as my first thought was ' all these pictures are getting in the way of the writing'

Oops! Need to read a bit further in.

Apprentice later, just love that programme. Feel like I deserve a night of telly watching as was in spreadsheet mode last night, and ended up doing work stuff.
