Glanced at the memorising stuff, I've always said that I don't 'see' things, and realised this when glancing through the book, as my first thought was ' all these pictures are getting in the way of the writing'
Oops! Need to read a bit further in.
Perhaps you need to go on a certain course that is being held in Leeds then along with a matrix meet

Hi Gill - I didn't get Memory Girl's book the first day I picked it up - but I tried "reading" it again a couple of weeks later and what she says is logical... Not completely sure it would work for me but have made a start using it.... Have ordered another couple of copies for niece and nephew so it will be interesting to see their reaction...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi sh and pa
For me its not the book I don't get, I just didn't register the pictures. I understand the idea. Many years ago, someone tried to teach me to remember the order of the planets using images, something to do with pluto holding something in his hand etc. And I can't remember any of it, but a list of chemical compounds which was a silly rhyme is easier to remember, but I can't remember what the compounds are!
(Patsy smith collects moths and zebras in tanganyikas (something) hills containing many savage gorillas)
Potassium sodium calcium magnesium ....... zinc iron ....... chlorine...silver gold
I understand the concept of mind mapping, but mine is more lists with joins. pictures just do not resonate with me. I can't visualise my son as a baby without a photo in front of me.
There must be another way!
Went to bed thinking that Liverpool fc were safe from the American muppets and wake to find they've blocked any sale. Do they want to see the club go bust? I can understand that they want to make a profit, but there is no time left. I can't think about it.
Off to work

I sometimes wonder about mnemonics.... tho I do remember the musical stave (every good boy deserves football) and my own for the halves of the brain Left is Logical and Right is Romantic.... (logic and feeling/creativity). I like order and regularity, so for me, lists work - but for anything complex, maybe a mindmap would be best. I do remember a seminar I went to the one time the charity I then worked for got into management training, and I used my reporting lines as an example of a flow chart - the trainer said we couldn't use it, it was too complex :rotfl: he asked someone else to step in

Been reading on hypno's thread about Nigella's programme, love the way she is so relaxed, but it helps having a huge house and larder etc.
Have got the documentation for the new job and have agreed that because of half term, will start on 1st November.
Bought some Christmas presents today, £4.98 worth, all budgeted for.
My sister is 50 next year, and have been looking at Wimbledon. I've been a few times, generally getting a ticket in the ballot, not sure she'd fancy queuing overnight.
Off to watch Have I got news for you.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
