2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Slow cooker chilli was good last night. Worked it out that it costed around 50p per portion.
Spending yesterday was a bit more than normal £45 but there were some decent offers on, so stocked up a bit.
We didn't get to buy fish yesterday as DS wanted to just chill after working 7 nights in a row. But, he does have cash so it looks like he's buying them himself.
Have been looking at prices of flights to go away probably early in the new year. Can get flights for £23.99 each way so not bad, but there are no 2011 dates that fit with the flights. Will do some ringing round tomorrow.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Sounds good - where are you thinking of going?0

Southern Spain, get cheap flights to Malaga, and then use local transport. Love the area around Orgiva - bit of a hippy trail place. Had a lovely holiday a few years ago, there are some lovely walks up into the mountains. Away from the big touristy hotels etc. Its easy to get to Granada from there too.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That sounds nice. It should be still quite warm then too. My parents have a house near Murcia and often go in the New Year - my Mum always comes back with a tan!
Hope you manage to bag a bargain. Have a good day x0 -
Yesterday went out with DS to buy some new fish for the tank as its been looking a bit sparse. Somehow I ended up paying for the bits and bobs and he paid for the fish.
Had a nice dinner, its not often DS is around on a Sunday to appreciate it. usually he's either going to work or coming home after a 12 hour shift at half seven absolutely shattered.
Realised that I have miscalculated the portions of chilli - they are too large for one portion and too small for 2 portions. So am making a sort of salsa thingout of cheap tinned tomatoes to go with it.
Everybody else is busy blitzing their houses so i'm starting with using up freezer stocks, so next weeks shopping should be cheaper. Today DS has had 'a variety of potato products from the bottom of the freezer', together with some of the meat, veg and gravy from yesterday. Tomorrow, who knows what he'll get.
Have to make a decision about dining room table soon. It was mum and dad's, is far too big for my house, but need some repair work which I can't afford and don't see the point in spending. Would sooner put the money to a smaller one that will fit better. Need to check with Mum that she doesn't mind me getting rid of it - it certainly won't fit in her bungalow.
Have done a few surveys today, need to get back into that.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I have a similar dilemma. We inherited ours from my MiL. The chairs all need repairing and the table could do with French polishing, but to be honest it's not our taste and I'd rather us get something that fits us and the house.
I don't want to offend my MiL - but she didn't want it herself, so hopefully she won't mind. Whether we have the money for a new one is another story
Hope the traffic wasn't too bad today0 -
Thats my dilemma too, except my mum solved it herself, and the table isn't particularly nice any more - my grandad bought it for 2/6 from Paddy's Market on the Dock Road in the early 1950s  its definitely seen better days. I wanted to get rid of it for ages, and my mum actually asked me if I was going to bother to take it with me when I moved house, bless her. I'm not2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That's exactly it. When Mum lived here, she brought it out of storage, but its not my taste. This is a large mahogany thing, which when expanded can easily sit eight, and at a push 10. Even before it went a bit wonky, we only used a part of it, and now it's a bit scratched too so needs french polishing. She didn't want to take it with her so I got lumbered.
When I suggested getting rid, both sister and brother pulled faces about the memories of Christmas dinners etc. Fine, then they can have it, they've both got much bigger houses than me. They aren't getting Nin's Windsor chair though, I'm keeping that!
I do however still have my Nan's old rocker which was bought for her in the 50's, but I love it and sit in it every day.
KC take it the table is part of the mammoth clear out before the move.
Cheapo tea, remainder of chilli, with some rice, taco's and home made salsa. And I am de-cluttering a box of choc's too!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
