    Thanks mac
will have to look at different times of the day to get to work as it was still bedlam this week. I used to go to Manchester every day and hated the bit just outside Salford where about 3 motorways join up, and Runcorn is just as bad. I hate Runcorn Bridge so much!!

    Shopping done.

Main shop - £32 - meal plan done, so enough for the week.
Butchers - £3.25 - bacon eggs and sausage for DS breakfast
Iceland £3 - burgers buns and breaded chicken things
    £38
Battery for watch and shoe heels £6.95

So roughly £45 up to now out of £80 budget. Should really keep some of it separate.

When I had a problem with leaking gutters, I emptied out the freezer and moved it, so should start to stock it up again.

Can cut this down more, depends on what shifts DS is on; when he's on nights there is nowhere to buy food so he has to take stuff in, and sandwiches aren't enough for a 12 hour shift.

Off to get ready for meal out with family. Going to Japanese place, never been before, not sure I'll like it but it will be good to be with them.

Well, just back from the meal. The food was lovely but......

I got really upset by a comment my brother made early in the evening which completely ruined the night for me. Thinking about it now, i am still very upset, even though my sister tried to gloss over it, and BIL was completely oblivious. His partner came and found me sobbing in the loo, and said that he hadn't meant it to sound like it did, and he thought the world of me etc. etc. I nearly left the restaurant before the meal started. A more outgoing person would probably have laughed it all off, but I am so painfully shy that if someone criticises me, it reinforces my lack of confidence. It wasn't helped by the fact that in the restaurant we were sat at a table with other people and I was made to feel as if I had ruined their night too.
After the meal, he brought out a huge bunch of flowers for my birthday, but he needs to realise that not everybody is the same.

Had to rant somewhere. Better go as I'm crying again, thinking about it.

Oh I am sorry that what should have been a treat for you was ruined! My family can be like that too which is why I rarely let them anywhere near me on my birthday! Hugs

Awww, that's awful! I'm so sorry that your night was ruined. Everything is made worse public too - then when you want to stop crying - you can't and cry more.

Hope you feel better about things today - and that your brother comes round to apologise properly. Hugs to you x

    Aw thanks folks

didn't sleep too well thinking about it; if it had happened in one of our homes I'd have reacted differently. But as mac says below, in public its different. I was a bit hurt so went to the loo, and every time I thought I was OK, the thought of people knowing made me cry again. You feel such a fool, I wish I was stronger, mentally in some situations.
As for him apologising, I doubt it, he won't see that he has anything to apologise for.

Anyway, will draw a line under it now, thats the sort of thing that happens in families. Especially when the rest of them are outgoing and like to be the centre of attention, often at the expense of the less confident, -well that would be me then,

My sister is off to the RHS show in Tatton Park today, I could go with her, will see how I feel after another coffee. But someone has sent us rain again.

If I don't go to Tatton, then its ironing, ironing and oh yes, more ironing. And the German GP.
At least I didn't spend any money last night, so still have a fair amount left.
