Enjoy the walk/run - hope it's better weather with you, it's miserable here!

    Thanks mac

yes the weather was miserable by six o'clock so we didn't go out. Will sort something out for the weekend.

DS - were you referring to the xbox thingy or the girl :rotfl:I think I can manage to sort the steering wheel for him. The girl is another matter, he went out with her for a while, but she was a bit of a 'head worker' and finished with him when he was out of work to go out with a previous boyfriend who was in the Army. Had baby and is now bored with sitting at home all day.

Have been paid and all DD's have gone out of account for this month so will sit down with spreadsheets at the weeekend and work it all out.

Will have £60 for groceries this weekend, and the freezer is full, so will do an inventory before going shopping. Really should keep a list and mark it off as I use stuff, not organised enough.

Still can't get onto stupid farm, and Facebook keeps crashing on me.

Managed quite well with shopping yesterday.

Spent £16 in Asda, £8 in butchers (but that included a piece of beef), £5 in Iceland and £6 in Somerfield. Still have some cash left, but not as much as I hoped as had to do an emergency chippy run last night.
I'd bought a chicken pie, normally buy own brand, but bought a 'pucka' because it was on offer. It was very unappetising looking, tasted very strongly of pepper and not much of chicken; I couldn't eat it at all, DS gave it a go but left most of it.

Heart in mouth watching the match, don't know whether to watch the snooker instead.
Have been ruthless with sorting. Have t shirts in sizes from 12 to 20, and realistically even if I lose weight I'm getting on a bit for funny captions, so they've all gone in charity bag. Also clothes that Mum has bought me over the years that still have tags on have been put in a pile for ebay.

Cash definitely works for me, I can keep track of it better, and I add to my sealed pot too.

Good luck with the continued decluttering - I got rid of loads of clothes recently and am feeling very liberated as a result, although it was quite tough to get started!!

Have had no internet for a while as somehow managed to wipe the config files off the 'pooter.

It's DS birthday at weekend and bought him the steering wheel thing he wanted, and managed a bit of a bargain on it. I had vouchers from lightspeed so was going to go with Amazon, but it was cheaper on Game - then there's the question of cashback so it all did my head in, then computer broke so couldn't go online anyway. Went into Game and it was £15 dearer than on internet. They don't price match but as a gesture of goodwill they did, and gave me a £10 voucher off a game too. So I've still got the Amazon vouchers for some other time.

Have got payslip but no money in bank yet, hopefully it will be there tomorrow. Also DS gets paid tomorrow so he will put his 'keep' into my account overnight.

Started training for Race for Life, more walk a lamp post - jog a lamp post, but its a start; should help me lose weight too.

Food bargain of last week, bought a chicken in Somerfield, just a cheap one, should have been £2.09 for 1.2kg, but was reduced to £1.57. Roasted it on Monday, had sandwiches for Tuesday, stir fry Tuesday night, made curry with the remains and then stock with the carcass and made soup. Don't think I could have got much more out of it, that's about 7 or 8 meals. If I include the cost of potatoes, veg and rice, it still only works out at around £3 to feed 2 of us for most of the week.

Voted on way home from work, generally don't bother because there is no party that I agree with the policies enough to want them in power, but decided I better had.

Hi Gill, I was wondering where you'd got to!

Good news on the bargain pressie, it does pay to faff about. And fab news on the walk/running. That's how many people start. If you keep at it you will be able to jog for longer each time and before you know it you'll be entering the marathon :rotfl:

I'm back, haven't been on here for ages and need to do some catching up.

Have been really ill with what started as a cold, and ended up as a really bad chest infection, set off asthma that I haven't had since I was a teenager and was really frightening as I couldn't breathe at times. Couldn't take time off work as I don't get paid if I'm sick so have been annoying the hell out of my colleagues for weeks.

Contract has been 'rolled over' for another month so still have work until end of June, but definitely need to look for a contract on a slightly better rate so I can make a dent in the debts. This one is enough for muddling along, but I want to really push on and clear them now.

Have had letters of random DCA's recently for debts that don't appear on my credit file, so at the moment I'm ignoring them.

Money wise, I'm still trying to be frugal, helped by the fact that my lettuce is now growing really well so don't need to buy any of that for salads.

Off to do some catching up.
