Interview today, by the time I got to the interview the role had changed from the one I originally was put up for but.....

    I got the job!!!:j:j:j:j

Initially 3 month contract but likely to be extended, and back on the money I used to be on. Just need to make sure I don't get back into that comfort zone again and start actually making a dent in the debts.
That is such fabulous news :j:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:j

    So pleased for you

To be back on your original money is absolutely fab!

    Thanks sashy, mac and SH

I am so relieved to be going staight from one contract to another. Was worried that the bit of savings left were going to take a bit of a battering, but I may actually be able to add to them and pay off the debts.

Had a cream cake and a glass of wine last night, not much of a celebration, but I'm not much of a drinker.

Will go out at the weekend to celebrate, especially as my brother, who was made redundant just before Christmas, got a job offer today too!

I'll wait a while and then sort out finances etc.

Yay!!! DS had a mega tidy up and found the wireless codes so can use the interweb properly without trailing wires etc.

On the minus side, the email from the agency asking manager to confirm my hours ended up in his junk mail and so he didn't approve it, so won't get paid tomorrow. Should be in on Monday though, so will muddle through the weekend, and DS gets paid tomorrow so will have some money.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous so off out for a walk.

Because of mix up over time sheets, didn't get paid until Thursday so its been an odd week, muddled through the weekend, and then DS paid his keep, so used that for food.

Until Wednesday, because of paperwork and bureaucracy etc. it wasn't clear that I was finishing this week, which has been a bit stressful. Eventually got sorted out, and I am setting up my own company this time rather than going through an umbrella, so it gives me a bit of control.

This weekend, as well as the usual stuff I'm going on a few 'dry runs' to new place as there are a few options how to get there. Depends on traffice etc. so Saturdays not best, but it will give me an idea. One option is 25 miles, over Runcorn Bridge and the other is 18 miles via the Dock Road and the Tunnel (£.140 each way) or via the Tunnel and still 25 miles using the motorway. Suspect that HMRC will only allow me to claim for the shortest journey.

Budget is going to get hit for six if i have to use all that petrol, so my normal allowance of £10 a week just won't cut it in this job, more things to think about.

New job is so manically busy that other than congratulating f_f on her new job, have only lurked around diaries and read the transcripts of the ones I subscribe to, so feel a bit guilty about that. Have mainly been using the site for information about bank accounts and insurance etc.

Journey to work not as bad as I thought, takes about 40 minutes and although there are a few queues, was only really stuck yesterday, and then it was because of an accident so couldn't be helped.

Have finally jumped through all the hoops to get company set up, especially as it means I can juggle the jobs better. Was a bit worried as I needed a separate bank account and I didn't think I would pass the credit check, but I went to my own bank and was honest about having problems in the past and today I got my new account details. Probably need to double check credit files as a few of the older defaults have now gone and have been trying really hard. I must get back to PADding, but although I've been putting the money aside, haven't been reporting on the PAD thread.

Went and had my eyes tested today, as I need my glasses for most things in work now, prescription for near vision hasn't changed much, but I have a new prescription for 'intermediate' and 'computer' whatever that means.

DS bought pizza for tea so that means that the chicken I bought will do for another day.

    Budget for this week:-
    Petrol - £40 :eek:it used to be £10
    Car parking £7.50
    Gas & Electric - £20
Food £60 - actually spend more than this but DS gives me money to buy him Coke etc. this is only for food we both eat. Can spend less, and have spent less, but am in a better paid job now so feel I can treat us a bit.

But I've spent an additional £20 on eye test, and £7 on a pair of black court shoes for work and am thinking about a hair cut.

    Last of the big spenders.

DS is in a DIY mood at the moment and has taken out the cupboard he built a few months ago, and re-modelled it. told him if he needed any more wood, there was a cupboard under the stairs he could use. I've been after him to take it down for me for ages.

Anyhows, off to bed now as really tired as keep waking up at 4:45. Can only think that I subconsciously hear next doors alarm clock as I hear him going out at half five :rotfl:

Will read other diaries properly tomorrow.

    Hi Gill :hello:

Great to hear you have settled into the job and sounding like you've already made an impact! I too have a commute, but it's not so bad and I tend to zone out and have my thinking time whilst in the car.

You sound more relaxed but also energised. The extra cash must be a big relief. I'm sure now you have such excellent MSE skills, you'll be able to make it stretch even further - good for you :)
