Thank you for your kind words. And thanks to KC for posting for me.
Its not so much as needing a break from MSE, more that I just didn't know where to turn, but felt that someone should know. There is also the fact that at the moment I have the concentration span of a nat ( or whatever the expression is..) - I watched the qualifying for the Grand Prix but can't remember who is on pole. I watched the football, can remember we won, but not what the score was or who scored.
Also a severely disrupted sleep pattern. I've now been awake for 2 hours and don't know what to do next.
The weekend is weird as feel I should be doing things, but can't because everywhere is shut.
I'm rambling... so I'm going now.
Thanks again.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Addendum:
we are also having an 'inappropriate funeral music' competition between my son and nephews, since one of Mum's friends is absolutely convinced that she wanted 'Danny Boy' and a cousin equally convinced that she wanted ' The Leaving of Liverpool'.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Sorry to read your news.
It is not surprising that you are all over the place - with concentration and the like. There is so much vying for your energies that you can't possibly expect to be able to keep everything as you would normally do.
Some days will be easier than others - some days things will seem to all fit together with ease, Others will be a jumble, or a fog, or just days you wish you hadn't even started.
Every bereavement is different - therefore there are no rules - everything you are feeling, and experiencing, is "normal".
Take your time, give in to the bad days, and run with the good days. And if that sounds like an impossibility at the mo, then run with the good hours, or the good minutes.

Thinking of you - give me a shout if I can help (sorry no idea who is on pole or what the footie scores are)0

Just to say how sorry I am Gill thanks for your text I had not caught up on here so had not heard. We are all here for you and if there is anything you want just shout and if you want some company I am not that far and always willing to meet for a coffee.
Big hugs to you and your family

Blimey. Hope you're nearer to getting the funeral music sorted .... there was a bit of a row about my dad's ...
And I hope you're getting some sleep too ... the time stamps on your last two posts are painful to see ...

Morning
for the first time in ages I've managed a whole 4 hours sleep in one go! Not sure I feel any better for it though.
Today is a BIG day. Because of the red tape at the hospital etc. we couldn't get a medical certificate until late on Friday; Liverpool Royal doesn't have a Registrars office so today we have to do the formal notifications.
So far have refrained from killing well meaning cousin, but it may still happen. One more 'I'll speak to Father xxx and sort it all out for you' ....
I admit that the idea of a couple of lapsed Protestants and an atheist organising a Requiem Mass may be hard for the devout Catholics to cope with, but we'll sort it with help, rather than it being taken out of our hands.gilligansyle wrote: »...one of Mum's friends is absolutely convinced that she wanted 'Danny Boy' and a cousin equally convinced that she wanted ' The Leaving of Liverpool'.
We've also got to the bottom of this one, and it wasn't the song that Mum was referring to, but a book about the Child Migrants ( she was involved in getting parliament involved in releasing papers)
We will sort the music, Mum's taste tended towards X factor winners etc. which would set my teeth on edge (regardless of how good or otherwise they were) or else she liked really powerful ballads and not sure most of Rod Stewart would be suitable.
Thanks to those of you who've left messages - both here and on phones; they mean a lot, especially those of you (you know who you are!) who were obviously upset when calling. You are all :A
