I know - ME - in a high powered job! Amazing!!!

I was chatting to a friend yesterday and it really hit me how lucky I am. Right place, right time.
Luck maybe a little but you obviously made an impression previously You are only ever in the right place at the right time when you have your eyes and your heart open for opportunities.

I love that book and have even been known to give it as a present to a few people.

I actually never really 'got' that book the first time I read it; probably because I wasn't in the right place for it and couldn't understand why you should do something that scared you.

Gill, just to say that I am very pleased for you. I was thinking also about your question about the comfort zone. I see it more as expanding it continuously and systematically. Because after you have done something out of your CZ it gets included within it.

I think its just taken me a while to accept that I *can* do things. I have a sneaking suspicion that my last manager may have a lot to do with this as he tended to focus on the negative, and pick at the little things that had gone wrong.

It has taken being self employed to make me realise my own capabilities; I would never have thought of going for this job a few years ago.

    Thanks for your input folks.

Today I've been and had my hair cut, defrosted the freezer and went to WW - I've lost another 2 1/2 pounds so have lost 12 1/2, so nearly at the stone mark. Still loads to go, but I'll keep my goal weight to myself for now;)

We've had steak for tea, and I've had half a glass of wine so no doubt will fall asleep some time soon.

Quite proud of myself as I didn't fall asleep having had half a glass of wine.

But that's because I wasn't watching telly, but was pottering round on the internet, reading blogs.

So far I've caught up on Cherisong's, KC's and a bit of FW, but ended up back looking at pictures of Austria.

Awake at daft o'clock but resisted the temptation to internet, but came downstairs and sorted out bookshelves. I now have another 50 books for charity shop. Or I could car boot them for 50p each if I could be bothered. They're all in a box under the stairs while I decide.

Some of them are self help type books that were given to me by a well meaning friend.
Why are so many of those books written by what i will loosely class as 'ultra conservative' Americans. The political viewpoint of most Americans is a touch too far to the right for my liking, but some of these have a quasi religious slant that is difficult to ignore.

Washing out on line, WM on.
    BM on
Slow cooker on. Random mince from the back of the freezer.

Friend is calling after she's been to the gym, then I'm going to meet sister and another friend, before heading back to sort my bag out.

I'm going to try and get the car washed - just so I feel better about it. If nephew is in when I get to sister's I may get him to do it for me.

Totally agree about the self-helpy thing - I have a suspicion that the original flylady is one of those "surrendered" wives - but its in the background enough that I didn't care when I was using the site.

50 books! Excellent - in days gone by, I'd have sold them. Now, they go to the charity shop, the space and the extra time really are more important than the money right now.

You have a lovely Sunday planned! Enjoy :)

Quick post and run, will catch up better at the weekend.

Job is really busy, hotel doesn't have free wi fi; loads to learn, a bit 'rabbit in the headlights' at the moment. In head office all week, then hopefully out on site shadowing next week. Have been made to feel really welcome. All the support staff are really pleased to have an ex customer on board.

Hire car being delivered on Sunday!
