    I did:-
bar work - 2 different jobs
    courier work
    leaflet delivery
some basic admin/bookkeeping for a couple of Greenwoods/Provident Agents
    worked in the offy
all of that brought in enough that I didn't need to claim benefits.

Some of it will still be available I just need to work it all out.

Love the free top with belt purchase :)

Glad you have some work ideas going round your head but second Hypno's suggestion that you write them down so that you can still get some sleep. Well done that you have gained in confidence as to where you would be willing to travel that has to be a real positive that you can get "on yer bike" to where the work is (although in your case a car might be preferable!)

And with that leap inconfidence, I'm betting that you could go for jobs with a bigger per hour whack - including over the net. Have you thought of freelancing sites like elance?

I'm not really sure about that, as I've heard quite a lot of bad stuff about it, that its quite badly managed etc.

I've had a few interesting conversations with people today, so will see if anything comes out of them, but I don't want to say too much.

Quite tired today and have come home to the house being 'mid-blitz' as DS has started painting, note the word start:D

Well I think its morning, its so dull and awful.

Sunshine not looking like its making an appearance today. This time last year, North West Water announced a hosepipe ban, and it hardly stopped raining after that.

Its also the first time its rained loads at Wimbledon for years. They kept waiting for it to rain so they could do the roof! Why is it raining this year?? Because I'm going, that's why :p. Hopefully all the rain delays may mean we get to see more, as we don't have Centre Court tickets. We are going for the last weekend, sister is really looking forward to it.

Don't know what the plan is for today yet, have got grocery delivery later, fruit and veg delivery tomorrow, but other than that, I suspect I'll be helping DS to finish the painting.

One other thing, my Gmail account has been hacked, so apologies to anyone who is getting spam - its not from me , honest:o

Lots of "ouch to that", sadly, but there's some good stuff going on too, from the sound of it.

Couldn't make up my mind what to do today, as I woke up convinced it was Sunday! Still not really used to these 2 days off.
Veg delivery has arrived, nice and early so I do now have the rest of the day. They read my note on the order and swapped the celery for something else - now I need to think what to do with it all. It's just so obviously fresher than stuff in the supermarket, but I probably do pay over the odds for it.

Have some very small peach type fruits, lots of strawberries, apples, pears (which I don't really like) and bananas. So out of that lot, probably only the bananas aren't locally grown. It's one of those things that's hard to judge, fuel miles, but I reckon its better to have one van driving from a farm with lots of locally grown produce, than to put money in the pockets of the big supermarkets.
On the website it does actually list where everything has come from, so you can get more of an idea. Especially for things like local cheeses - well Lancashire and Cheshire, not sure Merseyside is known for its cheeses!

The good thing is that these days I have a choice, I can go for quality or I can go for bargains. I don't *have* to buy the cheap versions.

So as my shopping has been done online this week, I only really need to get drinks for DS, as they are cheaper in Netto, and go to the butchers.

    Money in purse - 50
Money in bank - oops, only 32 quid.

This week is a bad week pay wise, because it coincides with Mum going into hospital, so not only did I not work many hours, I also forgot to submit my timesheet. Next week will be 2 weeks pay for the shorter hours when Mum was ill, which is just as well as off to Wimbledon.
Then 3 weeks after Wimbledon, off to Cologne for the weekend, again with my sister. I suppose you could call this a social life!

Sounds social to me! I'm off with my sister on Sunday, and I call that a social life! I was just thinking of you, actually, wondering how you're doing.

Wonder what you could do with the pears .... put them in a crumble with other fruit thats strong-tasting? Smoothie? Hmmm....

Hi Gill, just found your diary :hello: The sound of your veg box is making me hungry!

Just a quickie about freelancing sites - I've had a look round them recently, and signed up to People Per Hour, but not had any luck yet. My general impression is that some people can make them work well and build up relationships so they get regular work from the same few 'employers', but there is a lot of rubbish on there as well, people offering really low rates but still getting loads of applications. Maybe worth a bit of research though.

Wow to going to Wimbledon - how exciting! x
