Congratulations on the weight loss! Good to hear you're going to have a looksee at the marathon too, DT wants to meet up that weekend, so it will be a regular little party
remember to keep it free
I remember walking through the tunnel when it opened - did you do that? Oops, were you quite *old* enough to do that?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I can remember my Mum and her friend doing it, it was early 70's possibly?
My brother ran the Liverpool Marathon the last time it was run, I need to check if he's doing this one. All the more people to cheer on!
I'll try and catch up on diaries later, see what everyones been up to.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Yep - a bit too early for you to do a walk of that length, I think
there was some discussion about whether my sister could do it, and she's older than you
:o:o
Cheri might be coming along too! I'm going to stay an extra day, go home on the Monday...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
A regular little party going on:j and I'm sure there will be others to cheer on.
Who stole the sunshine? Yesterday I was working, outside admittedly, but had to wear high viz and safety boots, so not exactly dressed cool; today, no work and its dull and overcast:sad:
First load of washing in the machine, will trundle along to the launderette later with the bedding, there's no way I'll get it dry today.
I think I'll get some admin/paperwork stuff sorted today; update my CV, sort out hotel bookings etc. My new 3 day a week income is manageable but doesn't leave much 'wiggle room' so will check where I'm up to and that there's still enough in the Tax account to cover anything HMRC may ask for.
Will call on Mum, see how she is, count the cigarettes;)but basically today is going to be a chill day, I am not going to run around like a mad thing.
I was reading on KC's thread about the advantages/disadvantages of car ownership. From a financial point of view, I wish I didn't need one, but at the moment I'd be lost without it, couldn't really work if I had to rely on public transport. But I had thought about when I move to my wonderful apartment by the river, whether I would need a car, and I can't work out the pro's and con's enough. I suppose it depends on what the other aspects of my lifestyle are, social life, where DS lives etc.
Enough waffle, off to read some diaries.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Ooh, that makes me think of those apartments that we saw .... though I wouldn't want one that was too isolated, especially if I didn't have a car. A nice little shopping area a block away (with a socking great supermarket attached
) would do me nicely.
I'm really looking forward to the October visit now :j its going to be great :j
But you've reminded me that I should put the washing machine on ... off to do that in a mo ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
For those apartments, there's a deli and a Spar in walking distance, and decent public transport to city centre. Just something to add to the wish list.
Have done a load of ironing, its all in piles at the bottom of the stairs waiting to be put away. I've also found some furniture that I quite fancy for the dining room, but need to see it for real, not just on interweb, as it may look a bit too 'rustic', which is fine for this house, but won't work in a minimalist look.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

well the sun finally came out, and it ended up quite a nice day. Haven't really done much though, lots of washing got done, and a fair bit of tidying. DS is planning on decorating next week, so will have a look see what paint we've got lying around. It will just freshen the place up a bit, and keep him busy. He's applied for some jobs but got nowhere, but he has had a few DJ gigs which have both kept him busy, and got him out of the house. Even if he only gets a few quid for doing it, its better than nothing.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning
don't know whether to chance putting washing out on the line. It was gorgeous at half six, now it looks like its going to chuck it down. That'll also put the mockers on plans to go for a walk; and its market day today. I also need to check which Saturday is farmers market, I think its the last in the month, but always get mixed up and its only when I'm driving past as they're closing up that I notice.
Money stuff:- am going to stick with cash this weekend. Have the grand sum of 100 in my purse, that's for food, petrol, Mum's shopping; it seems an awful lot of money but that's what I worked it out to be.
I'm going to try to show Mum how to do her shopping online because its taking up a lot of my time; in theory its easy to do the shopping, in practice I concentrate on getting everything on her list, which is never in 'shop order', and walk out without half the stuff I need. Or I do my shopping online, add things for her, but still have to go shopping. This sounds like I'm moaning, I'm not really, but I'd sooner spend the time with her rather than shopping, taking it up there, packing it all away etc. And there's no way she's well enough yet to do it for herself. Even if she gets the main stuff delivered, I can always take her shopping for bits, so long as its a big supermarket where they have wheelchairs.
On my second cuppa, toast beckons.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0
