Bit annoyed with the Eggy one at the moment, I've been paying them on average a pound a day, for what seems like ages. The figure in my sig is from the beginning of May. Since they sold their credit card business to Barclays I can get onto the online account, but I can't see any transactions and the balance hasn't changed.

So they're not getting any more money. That will at least force someone to write to me as I've paid at least another hundred since then.

Mortgage account is looking very good, the overpayments are making a difference now, especially with the odd 5 week month, but won't update that one until 1st of July, as that gives a truer picture as the July charge will have gone on.

So far, since LBM have paid just short of 15,000 off debt including mortgage, lots of little debts have fallen by the wayside, so now only left with 1 cc (0%) other than the secured stuff. And I know they'd have gone down anyway all by themselves in that time, but I'm claiming the credit for it.

As you should! It sounds good, moneywise - and £100, well, its not just for you, is it, *and* its for petrol too.

Can your mum use a computer? Mine is really interested in them, but is recently regressing to "I don't understand" - I've told her half a dozen times, for instance, that at the wedding her little great grandson had a portable dvd player with him, but she insists on calling it a computer, very weird.

Raining again here! But at least the binmen took all the carp that was in my bin, some of which didn't strictly belong there. Now to fill it up again :D:o

    Hi KC
yes, Mum has my old laptop. She mainly uses it for emails, and doesn't use it as much as she used to, and her concentration isn't very good. Although she hasn't quite got the hang of the fact that she can check her emails on any computer.

But it would make life easier if she shopped online, even if it was just for some of it.
For example today, I will do shopping for her, then she'll either give me a cheque, which means I have to make a special journey to pay it in; or she'll give me her PIN and her cashcard .
DS is in the yard at the moment working out if any of the paint we've got is useable. That would save a bit if it is.

Well I think that was a few hours well spent:p Mum can now shop online at either Mr T or Mr A and also has online banking. But it was hard work. I've had to help her choose passwords that she'll remember; which means that none of it is as secure as it should be, but that's a chance she'll take and is better than giving people her cash card.

Not much in the way of bargains to be had on the market today; the butchers van was there, but it didn't look fresh, and neither did the salad stuff. So I've just picked up a few bits and will do an online veg order from the farm shop for next week, and see if they have any meat offers. At least it lasts longer and the quality is good.

Tomorrow will go to B&Q and get paint tray and rollers etc. as we had to chuck the last lot out. But we've got plenty of paint - if we mix it all together anyway. Various shades of cream, magnolia and white should end up OK.

Oh I am such a muppet!

When the weather turned out OK I decided to go for a walk. No idea why, but instead of heading the way I normally go, went in the opposite direction. Then realised I was near the cemetery, so went to visit Dad's grave. Quite proud of myself for doing what was basically 2 miles each way, but wondered why it was so busy.

Because I've been blanking out Fathers Day in the shops I forgot what date it actually was :o but funny how I ended up with him anyway.

I've been up at Mum's trying to work out what is growing in her garden, as I did dig it up a bit and put spuds and carrots in. Her garden backs onto a main road and there are lots of trees, so her garden is full of seeds.

Veg box ordered for next week, really must get back into that. Its a farm near my brother that works like a co-operative, so you can get stuff that they grow, mainly soft fruit, and also other stuff from local producers. Its worth the extra because it keeps.

Have also shown Mum how to do online banking - AGAIN!

I hope it was okay, Gill, that could be pretty demanding - well, it sounds like it *was* demanding with your mum. How about your little courtyard garden, how's it going?

My little 'garden' is doing quite well, would be better if I was around to water everything etc. if its not in front of him, DS is likely to forget to do things. And I don't want to distract him from his painting!

Mum's concentration isn't very good at the moment, don't know if its the medication. But we have managed, between us, to do an order, and pay me a pound, just to show her how to do it.

Internet OK in hotel now, they've changed the SID, so I think they'd had a few problems.

Off to Zumba, will be able to read diaries when I get back. I really know how to live.

    Morning
beautiful and sunny here at the moment, but then again, it was the same yesterday. Lovely morning and most of the day and then torrential rain in the evening.
Other than Zumba money didn't spend anything yesterday, but today will need to buy lunch and dinner, and fat club. I've packed the wrong camisole, so need to buy one, otherwise top I planned on wearing tomorrow will be a bit too revealing! I know its fashionable to show your underwear, but it's not a look that works for me.

And I need a belt for my work trousers, they are a bit too lose.

Have a good day if you're reading.

P.S not sure what I've let myself in for. When I got back from Zumba last night there were 4 missed calls from Mum - worried sick I rang her. She'd had text messages from online shopping and wanted to know why - and that was so important that she had to ring me?!

Oh dear to the missed calls .... elderly parents don't seem to have an appreciation of appropriateness, do they? I guess the texts really scared her: can she see the screen properly, by the way? The numerals on my mum's phone, and her calculator, are enormous, but the screen is the same size, which is a bit of a non-sequitur, now I think about it.

And - go you! A loose belt! This is good news hidden away in the detail :)

She doesn't really understand getting texts from businesses. I told her at the weekend she would get texts, a day before to give her a chance to change delivery slot, and on the day with a more accurate time for the delivery. But she'd forgotten so she'd rung sister who'd told her there was a way to opt out; so that's why she was ringing me. If she remembers to put her glasses on she can read the screen.

I like the loose trousers in a way too! I've never had scales so have never known what I weigh, so this fat club lark is a bit strange to me, but I can get my head round things being loose.
