Okay, that made me laugh :rotfl: we need that sort of stuff to keep us sane :rotfl:

It's the silly things that keep us sane, you're right.
M&S and sainsbugs have knickers on offer, just throw those grey ones out and get new ones ...

I've got decent ones, but why do I keep old stuff? Is there going to be a nationwide shortage?
Have picked some nice stuff up in Mr A, and a new bra too - souk I may need your help ;)

So when I get up at daft o'clock tomorrow, I will start my clear out - far too tired tonight and going round to friends to chill. Even better, her OH is picking me up and taking me home, so I can drink if I want to. But I may just fall asleep in their ever so comfy squishy leather armchair.

Don't want this to become a visit report, but they have reduced sedation so Mum is more aware today, but as she responds, you can see the heart monitor going higher, so quite scary.

Right, off to tart myself up.

Have a good evening if you're reading.

    Evening

    quick update type post.

Thank **** for online grocery shopping, is all I can say. This was the one I did through mysupermarket (or whatever its called) and Mr T ended up cheaper. At the moment, its the time saving that matters.

So food shopping was £44.53 in Mr T (That was all more than I would normally spend, but did stock up on stuff that was on offer.) £4.25 in butchers. Today went on a little trip out to Mr A and managed to spend another £40  but it did include a nice summer coat, and a new bag and some stuff for Mum, so I'm not counting it as coming out of grocery budget.

I've got petrol in the car, £28 in my purse, £40 in the bank, and get paid again on Wednesday.

I've decided to go to work tomorrow. Mum has been moved off the critical ward onto a side ward. So she's out of immediate danger, but they can't give any idea about how she'll progress. She is conscious but very confused, and is talking like she'll be home in a day or two. She told my sister off for canceling a dentist appointment on Tuesday.

    Hi Gill
You sound exhausted. I can't imagine what you must be going through - plus having to deal with well-meaning, but PIA family members and their opinions.....
I'm thinking of you and hope you can find strength from your friends here. Isn't is typical that you lose weight at a time when you probably could not care less. Take care and look after yourself xxx

Hi Gill - glad things have improved slightly with your mum. Hope that you manage to get a good days work in tomorrow without worrying too much. It always knocks any of us for six when a close family member is ill - so if you can get comfort from anything right now it sounds good to me. Glad you have some supportive friends too - the best ones are where you can fall asleep without offense...

Take care of you - you need to in order to be in any fit state to help your mum anyway

Well, we've bit the bullet, as mum is now on a more normal ward, and told the rellies they can visit. Mainly to take the pressure off my sister, though part of me thinks its about time she did her share. Is that mean spirited of me? I don't know, but feel like I've been alone in this for a while.
This ward aren't as informative as critical care, because they have more patients presumably, rather than 4, but when I rang today I was told they'd get someone to come to the phone. Waited a while and then a voice came on the phone, sounded a bit familiar.. ' who's that?' so I said my name "hiya gill, its auntie xxx" I came to visit but she's asleep and they handed me the phone". A bit too casual I think really.

    Hi SH

yes I did get to work, am concentrating on things like documentation, clarifying things etc. I'm not alert enough at the moment for anything brand new.

Psychologically it feels better that she's on a normal ward, albeit still on monitors etc. But she's got windows, so she can tell if its night or day, and if you stand up, you can see the river:)

    Evening

I feel at a bit of a loose end, don't quite know what to do with myself. I suppose its a reaction to the last hectic week, but it feels really odd.
Never made it to Zumba last night, as was constantly fending off phone calls. But I did go out for a long walk to try and clear my head a bit.
So far haven't spent any money the last couple of days, as I just took a load of stuff out of fridge and put it in a carrier bag, but this week is an odd one, as I thought I was getting paid tomorrow, but it relates to February when agency website was having problems and manager couldn't authorise timesheet in time, so probably get paid on Friday, or maybe Monday, depending when they do the BACS.

Have a good evening if you're reading.

You are bound to feel a bit "out of sorts" as things settle again. Just run with it, and it will pass.
