Getting out of my comfort zone

  • Herbs are really easy too! Just put them all in one container (with labels!) I also tried aubergine last year and courgette but it wasn't marvelously successful, but only cost a quid so no great loss. You're right though, there's no point in me growing stuff like cabbage, which won't get eaten enough.

One of the reasons I want to be more disciplined with the spending diary is so that if I am out of work for a few weeks between contracts, it will be easy to see where to cut back.

Off on my travels tomorrow, hope anyone reading has a good week.

Labels for what you've planted is a really good tip! I used to think, oh I'll remember that - and of course never did :o

I almost bought the P&P only offer at Thompson and Morgan for a potato planter, but realised I didn't need all the extras it had on offer, and that made it just a normally priced potato planter - felt a very clever consumer :rotfl:
Otterspool Prom - it's were I usually go. Sunday afternoon there's a kite flying thing going on, so that's good to watch. End to end is quite a few miles, so when I get fitter I can run bits of it and its nice and flat, no traffic.

I have photos of us on Otterspool Promenade! I thought it might be there, lovely.

    Hope your week goes well.

Have spent the day dipping in and out of BBC news. The first time in years that Liverpool have been involved in the transfer window and its all bad news.

Also I'm worried about Mum, so may need to cut back work a bit. Needs a think.

I was doing some trawling on gardening forums and they recommended moreveg.co.uk which has smaller quantities of seeds for half the price! :money:

I just perused, as I need to have a think about what I want to grow versus how much time I actually have to do it

Try Wilko's for veg. Generally get a bargain in there. Spuds grow themselves, need very little care. Tomatoes on the other hand....

I was going to look at this mag when I get a garden again, it seems to have lots of free seeds regularly, and other things where you just pay p&P. Not actually tried it though:

It's probably a case of doing your sums for each issue to see if it's worth it. Maybe try a swap with someone for the seeds you don't need too.
  • It's official you are an angel :A

Thank you so much and your timing was perfect as I have been having a real weepy day and I had forgotten that you had asked for my address so it was a complete surprise. My favourite smell too but far too nice to use I am sniffing instead:D

It was a bright spot in a bad day.

Gosh - Royal Mail are amazing! I missed the post on Saturday, so didn't think it would get to you so soon.
Hope you're OK. I just thought you'd been so fed up with yourself you needed a lift!

I have had a good day, we officially went live with 1 of the projects I've been working on; another is only held up because someone is off sick and a third has had a good kicking! So I feel I've justified being here, and there is talk of other projects, so looking good.

Just chuckling away, DS is off work tonight and has decided to cook. Well sort of. He's got a pie from Asda, has peeled some spuds for chips. He was a bit confused about timing so rang to ask how to cook frozen peas! I thought that was the easy bit!
