Well the fiver is gone already, as I needed a birthday card for a friend and had to pay for parking on a visit. I don't actually need anything else though so we'll see how long I manage with zero cash. Work will be busy next week so hopefully won't have time for anything else.

Really, really annoyed with OH. I think I've managed to get through to him that yes he does have a problem with gambling and he needs to get it sorted. So the next step is him doing something about it. We shall see.

Off out into town now for a free day out at some festival thing. Should be fun.

incredibly, have had six NSDs this week. Mostly through necessity mind. Then MIL gave OH some money for petrol so went to asda tonight, got lots of whoopsies and one of those massive chinese banquet bags for a fiver (they're ace, 4 mains, big bag of rice, prawn crackers, sweet chilli sauce and spring rolls) so we had half of that tonight and the rest is in the freezer. Lots in now for next week too. Think we'll just need milk, toilet rolls and bread next week. Which is good cos payday isn't til a week on monday and I've got about £50 left after everything is paid.
3 payments left on eggloan now. Excited!
OH's car needs MOTing. he has no money. Will get a friend to look at it next weekend and do as much work as possible, and then will see where we go from there. Not sure if it's worth spending that much more on it to be honest.
Will be aiming for at least 5 NSDs next week too. There's no reason for me to be spending. I don't need anything. I have food, I take bottles of tap water to work (our tap water is lovely), I don't need clothes or anything else. And I don't have time to be bored at the moment in work, as it's busy as hell.

Payday is nearly here. Have had NSDs for most of the week, and have ensured there's enough beer in and food so that I shouldn't need to spend anything all weekend. Am enjoying the football so that's free entertainment all weekend (and for the next few weeks) at least.
Had to bail out family members again so that put paid to having anything left over before payday, but what can you do?
Redeemed £10 with Valued Opinions, another 1000 points with GTM (usually comes out at about £20-30) and £10 on butlinsbingo this week. The BB money went straight off the egg card, just waiting for the other two to arrive. On a good run with VO at the moment, up to £7.50 again already.
Letter from Egg confirming that I'm down to the last 3 payments on the loan. Sooooo happy about that.
The less said about OH the better at the moment. Work is stressful enough without him stressing me out even more.
  • Made it to payday, by the skin of my teeth. Stress ain't the word. On a mission at the moment. 3 things listed on ebay (it's all rubbish but got to be worth a go), £40 quoted for an old phone on envirophone (£3 odd quidco too), just waiting for their envelope to arrive.
Refused to give OH any money for a bus pass (given that he doesn't get paid for another week and a half and frittered all his spare cash in the bookies), which is a small achievement, I'm fed up of bailing him out when he barely makes any effort himself. Fair enough he does work a hell of a lot of overtime but that's all pointless when it goes straight to Ladbrokes! I know he's 40 odd but he doesn't seem to get the concept that there are consequences to actions.
I'm going to try really hard with the NSDs this month, with a frugal month I can take a good chunk out of the egg card. I don't really have any plans at the moment so hopefully it'll be ok. I can only try.
  • Another quiet weekend. OH is making an effort in his own way, small bits but kinda makes me think I'm getting somewhere with him. He does try, but the bookies is a lure too much sometimes. And the trouble is he works all over the country now so it's so hard to keep track of. I've taken his bank card off him though and his cheque book so no more payday loans either. These payday loans are a disgrace, never mind banning alcohol advertising, they should ban companies like wonga and the money shop advertising on tv, APR 2689% or something ridiculous like that, it's absolutely shameless.

Envirophone have received and accepted the phone I sent them, showing as payment ready so that'll hopefully appear in my paypal account soon. Got one thing selling on ebay (box and accessories for said phone), and an inbox full of surveys that hopefully I won't get screened out of.

The less said about that shocker of an England performance yesterday the better.

Sounds like the washing machine has finished its cycle so best be getting on with trying to get the washing dry. Why is it that the weather turns to rubbish when Saturday comes along?
  • eh well, spent the envirophone money on a new battery charger and memory card, and a CD that I've wanted for ages (was a fiver on amazon). Not my finest hour but it was stuff that I would have had to buy at some point so it was in a sense a money neutral purchase.
  • I've been so naughty I got some new trousers and a jacket from tesco the other day. Both were in the sale but still...
Sold one thing on ebay, got bids on 2 more and watchers on another 2 so fingers crossed!

Need to book somewhere to stay for next London gig, and get some tickets for Pride before they go up in price. Will do both of those tomorrow.
Off to trawl the house for more tat to sell on ebay now I think

Right, things are not going too badly.

All payments for this pay cycle apart from the egg card have now gone out. Egg card payment is £31 on the 10th of the month. I have £30 in my purse, and plenty of food in. Have paid for friend's birthday present (train fare so she can come and visit at the end of August, got advance purchase tickets so that wasn't too bad, £50 return) and for hotel for next trip to london (beginning of August, £45 for hotel and brekkie, will get half back off my friend for that), also made an extra payment to the lloyds card to get that down to a nice round number, and after that have got £100 left to last 10 days. But considering I have £30 in my purse I'm actually hoping not to have to touch that £100 so it can be paid off the egg card as soon as I get paid again.

Have had £20 payout from quidco, made £18 on ebay. Both of those will be paid off the egg card too, so should get that under £1000 this month. 2 Payments to go on the egg loan now, which I'm inordinately excited about. Have had the loan (think it started off at 10k, got down to 5k and then borrowed again up to 15k) since 2005 so it'll be such a big difference to get rid of it. The last lloyds loan payment will be november as well.

Thinking positive. There is light in the distance.

Had a wonderful phone call from my brother earlier that really cheered me up. Have been in a somewhat reflective mood since then, but in a good way.

Went to Lidl today, spent £11.20 on fruit and veg, some new moisturiser (as mine had run out) some soft drinks and some popcorn which turned out to be disgusting. Got enough food for the rest of the week though. £18.80 in purse and counting.
Will need this week - birthday card for MIL, stamps. I got the office supply of chocolate from Lidl so that's my bit done for the month.

An unexpected long trip (for work) will mean a petrol spend but apart from that things are still going well. Had a lovely tea with some whoopsied salmon I found in the freezer. Need to find a recipe for flapjacks as I'm craving something sweet and there is no chocolate in the house. Have paid the £18 paypal money to egg, am quite determined to keep this going.
