Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

  • Had £40 from quidco come through today, so that's straight for the savings pot.
Car is definitely going to need a new exhaust, so that'll be a few hundred quid. It's had new tyres and brakes over the last few months, and a new clutch last year so fingers crossed the MOT shouldn't find much else.

No shopping tonight as DH has the car. I have the car tomorrow as I have the dentist. Fortunately dentist is free thanks to maternity exemption!

Am now waiting for DH to get home after a hospital appointment (7pm! Who knew they did appointments that late!). Am starving. He's supposed to be bringing tea.
  • It has been a busy month. Savings wise I've been quite good, and now have 1k towards a new kitchen. I can get a mate to do it and that would be enough but I don't know if he can do what I've got in my mind (keen DIYer rather than kitchen professional) or I'm wondering if I should save up more to get it done by a local tradesman.

I've got used to being back at work and tiddler still loves going to the childminder. Being a distance from the shops is working well as well as I'm taking lunch in every day!

It's tiddler's birthday soon. Scary how quickly that's gone.
  • Payday, and I'm off sick (this is a coincidence). D&V is great fun when you've a little one to entertain.

Anyway, car tax paid. Didn't receive a reminder through the post yet, but wanted to get it paid and done as it was due end September anyway.

Friend has offered to do the kitchen so that's what I'm going with. Will save me a lot by way of cash - will require work on OH's part (and mine if we do it on a weekday while tiddler is at the childminders).
  • Ebaying is quite a success this month so far. A few things finishing tomorrow, all with decent bids.
Continuing to declutter. 2 bags of clothes ready for the charity shop, a few pairs of shoes and socks in the bin.
Tiddler's birthday next week, not got him any presents as such but he's got everything anyway!
  • Haven't updated for ages. Debt is still coming down, kitchen work has started (but will take a while), tiddler is a delight, work is... work. Need to update my SOA and look at a future plan for this year and next.
  • I have cause to do a new SOA, so here it is

Well, a few months further on, baby number 2 is due in September, and debt is down to £2300 - less than 8 months left to go. It's been quite a year so far.
Back on track with ebaying, and picking up the few bits for baby this time round 2nd hand where possible again. Bargain double buggy already in the bag.

Baby number 1 is brilliant. He's a little character, funny and charming, and an absolute delight. He must have been for us to decide to have another!
