    Hi Tiny,

Just subscribed to your diary! :)

You have inspired me to get decluttering again!

My office is in the centre of the high street so I have to be very restrained!!!

    Hi Orange!
Our office used to be attached to a shopping centre, it was lethal! So glad I've moved.
Decluttering is without doubt the best thing I have ever done. Front room is clear, getting there with the kitchen. I could do with giving the wardrobes a good look this weekend as well.

today, I drove past a chippy advertising "friday chippy tea" in the window. And boy was I tempted. I resisted though, and had chicken and chips made at home. Delicious.

Looking at the weather, I doubt we will be doing much this weekend. Tiddler threw up all over the place earlier, I think he's eaten something that disagreed with him, he's full of wind, so we will take it easy tomorrow.

Payday Tuesday. A good thing for August is that it's the childminder's holiday so that's two weeks I don't pay for. Need to be saving that excess.

So far this morning, 2 loads of washing done, and some more ruthless decluttering off that food list.
I realised that what was holding me back was a mental block: I felt like I "needed" to use stuff up and then got stuck in a cooking rut because I didn't want what I was planning to cook so ended up buying junk to compensate. So, I have binned off a load of stuff and feel loads better for it. Am going to reorganise the cupboards in a bit.

I don't want to jinx myself but tiddler is asleep and I've eaten an uninterrupted lunch, done the washing up and am now enjoying a coffee. These are good, these afternoon naps.

Today I have sold an old blender on facebook for a fiver. I have also listed some unneeded baby toiletries. I am going to get rid of the unsold baby clothes to the charity shop this week (or to anyone at work who might want them).

Kitchen cupboards look loads better. Made space on the work surface as well.

All ironing done, just need to sort out work lunches for the week and sort out tiddler's teas for the week and I'm done. Have mostly completed the tesco order ready for payday.
I think the fridge is on the way out, but I was planning on getting a new one when we get the kitchen done anyway. It's about 20 years old and came with the house so it's lasted well.
  • Made it to payday (tomorrow!)

Tesco order is nearly done, compared it with morrisons delivery and it was virtually an identical price. Not finishing it until Wednesday though as some of the offers change after tomorrow.

Sold a few little bits on facebook. Treated tiddler to this

Tesco order complete and ready for delivery tomorrow evening. DH has started decorating the front room at last, and fortunately all I've had to pay for so far is some new curtains (in true moneysaving style, we are keeping the old curtain pole and nets, and the new curtains are thick, lined and reduced from £69.99 to £20.99)

As the house is in chaos I treated us to a takeaway tonight, and it was paid for in cash and was delicious. We only ever get one main to share, and a side, so less than £10.

I have put a large chunk of wages into the savings account, so will see how I do in terms of NOT TOUCHING IT!

Room is nearly finished, and looks lovely. New curtains are fab. Posted some baby clothes I sold and have a pile of unused tiles to take back to the shop.
Knackered now! Been a busy day, especially with entertaining a baby as well. Having a well deserved glass of wine now while watching the darts.

Moneywise, everything is paid for the month, apart from transport for me which is £13 a week.
  • Got a student loans statement at the weekend. I actually owe about £1k less than I thought, which I'm surprised at and pleased at given I didn't pay that much off last year.

Emptying out more of the freezer today, makes for a few work lunches and easy teas.

Front room is nearly done. Looks bigger and cleaner already. I like being organised!

No spend day today. Need to pay tram fare for the week tomorrow (£13).
  • Impromptu day off as work is quiet so we decided to all try to use up some annual leave. So far have painted a shelf, cleared out a drawer, tidied the wardrobes, cleared a shelf in the bathroom and bagged up all of DH's toiletries for him to go through (and bin, some of it must be 10+years old).
Have a bag of stuff for the charity shop, and am going to the dentist in a bit. Tiddler is at the childminder and the house feels so quiet and empty. I don't like it!
Money wise, have put some more money in the savings account. Will see if I can make do with what's left. MOT is due in August so we shall see.
Have ordered some winter clothes for tiddler as they were on 3 for 2 and a £2 off voucher from tesco. May as well plan ahead.
  • Front room is finished! Looks good, very happy with it.

I have nearly emptied the freezer. It should be ready to defrost by the end of the week. I like the idea of starting with a blank canvas.

Money wise, spent less than I expected this weekend so should be alright for the week. Need to do a fruit and veg shop Tuesday night, and that's all that I should need to spend.
