Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

I'm still silly excited about getting the loan paid off. I only have two payments left on the other loan but I might phone them up on payday and see how much it would be to pay it off now.
Egg card now under £800, holiday paid for, just requested £25 from pureprofile, £10 from butlins bingo and £10 from tab bingo recently received as well. Getting there slowly, light at the end of the tunnel is now flickering on0 -
I'm so bloody dense, the last payment on the lloyds loan is next month! miscalculated that one, but that's a nice miscalculation isn't it!
So glad it's the weekend, work is insane at the moment. Gonna get myself a well earned drink now0 -
Payday is Wednesday, think I should make it!
Holiday tickets arrived today, am extremely excited now. Have made a list for packing and I've got it down to bare minimum, nice surprise that the flight tickets say we've got 20kg luggage allowance, I thought it'd be 15kg. I'm thinking we might manage with one case between us though.
Can't wait to see that Lloyds loan finish. Went into the bank today and the cashier asked me if I was interested in any of their savings or loan products and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They keep writing to me offering to lend me more money as well. No chance am I getting into that again. NO MORE LOANS. After 2nd October they will be gone and that really will be it.0 -
OH is a complete kn*bhead and I've really given up this time.
I could rant at length but what is the point?0 -
Still not happy with OH but more calm now. What he does is his business and just so long as his secured loan, mortgage and DMP are paid I don't care what he does with the rest of his money.
I've set myself a target. Egg card to be gone by Christmas. Lloyds loan finishes on 2nd October, so if I get rid of the Egg card that leaves me with just (!) two debts to be dealing with. Got a few nights out coming up and deposits for Christmas do's and all that, and then the holiday in October. As always, doing everything on the cheap though.
Am awaiting a £10 tesco voucher from valued opinions, freezer is full (lots of whoopsied stuff last week), have still cut down on the beer so that keeps the grocery bill down a bit.
I feel like this plodding on will never end.0 -
I'm stupid. I've just loaned (yeah right) the oh £130. Does anyone want to tell me what a complete numpty I am? The only reason I've done it is because he was going to try to get a lend off his dad. Both of his parents are pensioners and I can't describe how low I think he is to want to borrow off his parents who don't have much anyway. And it's not like he'd pay them back. He's never paid me back. He says he will give me a cheque that I can cash on payday but that's like saying if you p!ss in the wind and move fast enough you won't get covered in wee.
I'm so frustrated. I'm doing alright myself, but I could do much better if I wasn't bailing an idiot out every five minutes.I'm too soft. I just don't know what to do to actually get through to him how much it hurts when he gambles.0 -
right, what's done is done and nothing was ever achieved by whinging. So, belt tightened for the rest of the month. Will grab some soup of of the freezer for lunch tomorrow, need petrol and that's going to be it. It has to be.0

Loans are gone!
Soooo excited by that. 3 cards to go. Plan is the extra £400 will be spends for the holiday this month, then november and december it will pay off the Egg card and that will be gone too.
Surprisingly quiet day at work today, looking forward to going on hols at the end of the month, definitely need the break.0 -
It's been a while, but there has been some progress - Egg card has gone and now Egg are out of my life for good.
Have spent a lot on groceries recently but cupboards are full of useful things and all Christmas presents are now sorted, just need to wrap them and write cards. Have been given some vouchers for Christmas so will keep those for something useful.
Work's been absolutely insanely busy but at least time flies, I love my job fortunately, but am looking forward to some time off over Christmas. I plan on doing not very much over the festive period! Going to OH's family for Christmas day, then to friends on boxing day, then nothing nothing nothing.
Will have to try to get back on the wagon after new year, in terms of health, money and alcohol. We shall see.0 -
Have some vouchers so might go into town tomorrow to see what the sales are like. OH needs some hair clippers (very money saving) so I'll hopefully get some of those with some nectar points at Argos. Also have some tesco vouchers for Pizza Express so can meet the OH when he finishes work and have tea out. I have £30 in my purse, the car is full of petrol, so there is no reason for me to take any money out of the bank between now and when I'm back at work (a week tomorrow). Will see if that happens.
Not sure what we'll do for NYE yet, probably house party somewhere as I'm not in the mood (financially or realistically) to be going out and spending a fortune in a crowded pub.
Christmas has been nice this year, very chilled out. I'm starting my annual declutter now, need to get the OH to put some shelving up in the living room and then I can sort out all the dvds, videos and CDs. Need another wardrobe sort out, and really need to go through all the christmas decorations as there are bags and bags that we've not even used this year (plus half the lights don't work anyway).
Have had a look at the online sales but it all looks like tat to me. I don't think there's anything I need anyway. Will see what the real sales are like but if there's nothing I like then I'll have to save the vouchers for something useful!
Can't believe it's nearly the end of the year. What happened to those resolutions? Will have to try again for the new year, this year is going to be a big one and I will make an effort.0
