Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

  • NSD today but absolutely no chance of it being an AFD! I need a drink after this week! Have got three bottles of mulled wine left over from Christmas so I'm aiming to work my way through those (which is, in a sense, moneysaving as I didn't go to Asda to buy wine).

Plans for the weekend are pretty scarce. Probably out for a drink tomorrow. Need to go to... somewhere... to get some chicken for tomorrow's tea, unless I can persuade OH that fajitas will be nice with chopped up steak and some prawns (both of which are in the freezer).
OH is working til late tonight so will probably have a nice relaxing bath in a bit. Plenty of housework to do tomorrow and I really should wash the car as it's filthy.
  • So tired! I need to book some time off work, not sure when I'll get chance but definitely need a break.
NSD today. Had to get petrol yesterday so picked up a few bits from Tesco as well, that should be all we need for the week though. Made some soup for lunch last night so that'll do for the week as well. All being well Wednesday and Thursday will be NSDs numbers 14 and 15 so I'll have reached my target with a few days to spare.
AFDs are going well too, and am trying to rediscover various clothes hidden in my wardrobe. Found some stuff I'd genuinely forgotten I owned. I think my plan clothes wise is to buy as little as possible but if I manage to lose a decent amount of weight I'll going to say sod the clothes budget I'm buying everthing new!
  • Reporting in at the end of the month. Managed 18 NSDs and 21 AFDs, which I'm quite pleased with. February will be harder as fewer days to play with, but never mind. Challenges and that.
Plan is to start going swimming again as of tomorrow, one of the girls at work is up for it as well, so we can try to go straight from work. Need to get fit and thin!
  • first NSD of the month today, 3 AFDs though. Went swimming yesterday and going again tomorrow. It ached this morning which means it's working, right?
Got £44 off quidco which went straight off the Lloyds card. Was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't expecting those payouts for ages yet. 12 days til payday, lets see how I do. Want loads of NSDs this next week.
  • Having a housework day today, so should be a NSD. Probably won't be AFD but I've got some hideous low alcohol rose wine to use up (low alcohol wine, a contradiction in terms and just plain wrong, I feel). Trying to do as much tidying up as possible as the house is a tip. Sat watching the football at the moment though. Need to find something to make lunches with for next week, as I don't want to go to the supermarket this week if I can avoid it. Fridge is full, cupboards are full so nothing really needed. Just a little bit of creativity needed.
It's grim outside, which is a good excuse to not go out and therefore a good excuse for no spending! I've got a voucher for Primark and I want a new gym bag so when I do finally drag my !!!! out of the house I'll go into town and get that and only that. Also have boots vouchers if I need any toiletries.
Nails are black today, have stuck to having nails always painted since the new year and it does look really nice.

In not so good news, my car is likely to fail its mot quite majorly (not worth repairing majorly) so I need to look for a new one. Well not new new, but new to me (you know what I mean).
  • The debt is going to increase over the next few months unfortunately, to pay for a new car. I should get £100 or so for scrap for mine (MOT up in March, no way it'll pass) and if I get a newer car now should get a couple of months worth of car tax back and we'll see what the insurance company say with regard to staying with them - depends on what kind of deal they want to offer me I guess. The benefits of the newer car will be less petrol cost (mine eats petrol at the moment), cheaper tax, so it might well balance itself out.
    I have £500 already, so that's a start towards a newer car.

Another NSD today and AFD too, as I've not really left the house. Just been working out my finances, what I can and can't afford to do, so have got a better picture of what I need to be doing for the next few months. I've found that NSDs and not buying lunch at work are saving me a fortune, as is not drinking in the week!

Off now to google for a recipe for lentil pate as there's a big bag of lentils in the cupboard and I think that would be a nice way to use up some crackers left over from Christmas. Can't believe we're still working our way through Christmas food.

Have now purchased new car. £1800 and in great nick. I absolutely love it. However, that does mean £1300 added to the debt. Will be scrapping the old car this week so I'll see what I get for that (anything I do get will obviously be straight off the debt).
Insurance - just had to pay an extra £15 to insure until the end of my current term (April ish) so not too bad.
Payday Tuesday. Have £130 left in bank, am going to tesco later as I have a voucher for £6 off if £40 spent so might as well make the most of that and do a big shop. I usually struggle to reach £40 but will stock up on washing powder and stuff like that. Whatever is left when wages goes in on Tuesday will of course go straight towards the debt.
Not especially excited about Valentines day (we never do much), we're both busy tomorrow so it'll be amazing if anything exciting occurs.
  • Quite impressed with the big shop - £50 so £44 after the voucher, and got a 5p fuel voucher from tesco too so that's good. Got plenty of the basics to keep us going for a while. Also had to buy a new toaster as ours was burning everything no matter what setting it was on. Not that I'll be doing tesco on a sunday again, far too busy for my liking.
Am now looking at what else needs doing, clothes are still drying on the radiators, going to have some salmon on toast for tea I think, got veg soup in the slow cooker for work lunches for the week, swimming kit is all washed and ready for tomorrow. Just need to get something out of the freezer for tea tomorrow and then crack on with ironing and I'll be ready for the week ahead.
  • Busy week with lots of working late so have slipped a little bit with work lunches, which has mucked up my NSDs as well. Haven't mucked up too badly but it annoys me as it's avoidable.
Not planning on doing much this weekend, which at least is good for the budget! It was payday last Tuesday so made extra payment on Lloyds card, and hopefully will be able to again at the end of the month.
Still loving the new car - it's gorgeous! And uses so much less petrol than the old one which is moneysaving too!
It's freezing here, I don't think I'll be leaving the house today. Need to get up to date on surveys as I've not had chance to do any all week.
  • Aaarrrrrgh another busy week, just when I thought it might be quiet and I might be able to get things done! But anyway, paid off another £30odd on the credit card to get it to a nice round number. Am hoping for a bit more by the end of the month.
Work lunches are better this week (taken them in every day) but I don't think I'll reach the NSD target for this month. Too many little bits and bobs that have needed paying. No alcohol so far this week which I'm pleased with considering how stressful it's been at work! Haven't even been tempted to buy any new clothes! Will scour the wardrobe to find something to wear out on Saturday night.
