An extra £90 will be paid off the credit card on Monday thanks to some quidco money coming through and some ebay sales. Just did a big shop and got £40 of groceries for £22 thanks to money off vouchers and the valued opinions voucher. Think I'm pretty set for the week now.
Going to see Take That this week which will be fantastic, the reviews so far have been amazing. Hopefully won't spend too much - trying to cut down on the drinking and will be at work the next day so won't be drinking too much I'd imagine.
Trying to get the house sorted out a bit, slowly getting rid of stuff. Could do with some new summer clothes but am trying to resist. Can't complain about the sunshine though!0 -
2 more things listed on ebay yesterday, one bid already (99p, but better than nothing!).
Was watching a really interesting video about a lady who when she travels only takes clean underwear and just raids charity shops wherever she is going, for her wardrobe for the week, and then at the end of the week donates it all back again. Nice idea, not necessarily moneysaving given the charity shop prices round here, but I think it's a good way to challenge yourself to develop your own style. I could certainly do with re-looking at my wardrobe, and when I think about it there are loads of accessories that I have that I never wear. Maybe I need to concentrate a bit more!
Mind you, fashion has left me for the weekend. Tried to do my legs with this fake tan stuff (the kind where it's in a moisturiser and gradually builds up, except this one went grey. Straight back in the shower for me, and straight in the bin for that (fortunately it was something I'd been sent to trial for a survey, so didn't cost anything). I will have to remain pale. Ah well!
found a moneyjar in the cupboard yesterday - there wasn't a lot in it, but a couple of quid which is better than nowt - money I didn't know that I had anyway!
Got some sausages from tesco last week which are a bit grim (I should just stick to the cheap ones, I know I like them!) so will put those in the slow cooker this afternoon with some tinned tomatoes, herbs and onions and whatever other bits and bobs are lurking in the bottom of the fridge. That will do for work lunches anyway. Also operation empty the freezer is starting this week, as it desperately needs defrosting.
It's rainingGonna try and get some more washing done anyway, and will tackle the ironing this afternoon. I can't believe it's raining, it was so nice yesterday!

For the first time in a long time, on a sunday night I've got everything done. Ironing done and put away, all washing up done and put away, kitchen table is clear of clutter, bathroom is clean, work lunches for the week are in the slow cooker, have exercised (and god did I feel it, I'm so out of shape!). It's actually a really nice feeling not to have anything "hanging over me" as it were, and it wasn't a lot of extra work, so I really should be getting my !!!! into gear more often.0

Hi there, have just stumbled across your diary, haven't had time to read it all but you must be getting really excited about the wedding! Will read it all when I get a chance and I also love the sunday night 'it's all done' feeling! Hope you have a good week x0

Hi nonnie! hope you have a good week too!
Weddings, ah I can now see the attraction of elopingPeople seem to have so many expectations and look at me in shock if I say I'm not having something (favours on the tables, for example. Chair covers. A posh car. A big flouncy dress). My priorities are making sure people have a good time, so there will be drinks a flowing and music to get people dancing. I'm not necessarily doing it "on the cheap" but I am prioritising my spending on things that I think are necessary (food, drink). The advantage of getting married near christmas is that everyone is already in the party mood.
I just need to lose about 4 stone between now and then. Like that's gonna happen!0 -
Been up since 5 as OH was out to work early, so have got quite a bit done today. Am still on a bit of a tidying spree at the moment, think I'm running out of things to ebay though.
Payday wednesday, still money in my current account so that's good!
Can't work out today's weather. Washing's out but it keeps going from cloudy to sunny so I don't know what's going on there! Hopefully will get it dried before the end of the day. It's not warm either!
Will sort out the week's work lunches in a bit, and then see if there's anything else I can get rid of in the bedroom. One by one I'm trying to clear the rooms of clutter. I'm pleased with the bathroom as we've managed to keep that pretty tidy so far. Bedroom is a state though, definitely needs something doing to it!0 -
hi there well done on continuing to make forward progress. I am in awe with you decluttering I have GOT to do some of that chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
0 -
cheers Chev, I think the decluttering is just a sign that I have too much carp in my house and spend too much money on tat!
Can't believe how horrible the weather is today. Absolutely bucketing it down all day, so much for getting washing dried. It's freezing as well so I've had to put the heating on. At least I can get some of the washing dried on the radiators with the heating on, but still! It's june !!!!!!, I hate having to put the heating on at all!
My phone is on the way out, so I'm looking at new ones. Seriously considering getting rid of my contract when it expires, and going onto payg. I generally use it for internet more than calls, though I do send a fair few texts, so if I can get a decent smartfone for a reasonable price, I think that's definitely something to be considered.
I need a holiday! Don't think we'll get one this year with the wedding and everything else but it would be nice! Plus, can't really afford one. Am trying to cut down as much as possible finance wise, still. Which reminds me, haven't had a gas or electric bill in ages, will have to get OH to phone up to see what's going on (it's in his name but I pay it). In a few months I would be able to downgrade sky if I wanted (I don't want to, really, but it's a possibility). I think the biggest saving I can make will be from my mobile though. Might re-look at my SOA soon.
Have spent £20 in Primark today, so up to £38.50 for the year, which is not bad considering we're in June already. Am quite proud of myself for sticking to this so far. However, will be buying a wedding dress in due course which will blow the budget. I'm thinking high street wedding dress, so it won't be thousands, but it'll certainly be more than £100! Don't think I'll include that in the budget
Think I'll go for a bath in a bit. May as well make the most of the heating being on. Was going to watch the F1 but that's been rained off as well by the look of it. Not much else on telly so watching old episodes of League of their own.0 -
I've found a wedding dress, which I'll be buying in the next few weeks. a smidge over £300 which isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things. Wedding planning is coming on quickly now. It's just paying for things which is going to be the pain!
Throwing every spare penny I can at the moment at the lloyds card, just to keep it ticking over. Barclaycard have offered me 0% balance transfer til December which is certainly tasty, got til the end of June to think about it.
Have run out of things to ebay now, which is a shame, but did two 40 point surveys on GTM this morning so getting close to another payout for them. Missioning round the house for the last of any tat that might be worth a go on ebay, but the freecycle bag is getting bigger.
Am going to make myself a cup of tea and chill out for a bit before cleaning the kitchen. Lunches for the week to be made and clothes for the week (although it's hard to know what to wear as I can't tell from one day to the next what the weather is going to be like!). Got some photos from a night out to upload to facebook as well.
And anyway, I'm saying it here so I'll have to do it. NO DRINKING THIS WEEK. The beer and wine has to stop. We'll see if I manage it.0 -
Well I managed the week without drinking. And it's been so busy at work I managed to lose a few lbs as well, mostly because I didn't have time for lunch.
Not going out this weekend or next week. Taking things very easy. We're trying to empty the freezer to defrost it so will be living out of that I think. I know there's a joint of beef, some lamb, steak, salmon and lots of random bags of soup (that's work lunches sorted then!)
Where is the sunshine? I thought there was supposed to be a heatwave this weekend, but it's throwing it down. Not going to get my washing dried today!
Bedroom looks like a bomb has hit it. I think I'm going to have a sort out of bedlinen as we seem to have loads of it and it's really not needed. Also am going to transfer the contents of my PC onto a hard drive and then get rid of the PC as to be honest we never use it. That should make some space! Will probably get rid of the tower and freecycle the monitor and keyboard. It's about 8 years old and I think most people's phones would be quicker!
Need to start some surveys now, as there are loads in my inbox, and keep an eye on the weather to try to get the washing out if it looks dry enough. Ah well. A weekend doing nothing is exactly what I need.0
