Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

  • Well had to have a spend day today, as needed petrol, groceries, to pay into collections at work. AFD yesterday and today though. Tomorrow will not be alcohol free after this week at work it has been manic! So, NSDs and AFDs both stand at 5.

Was quite pleased with the grocery shop as £22 for everything for the next week. Got some reduced price spinach leaves which are my fave and a big bag of carrots and loads of spuds so will do carrot soup for next week's lunches.

Have vague plans to start running at the weekend, will probably start off walking round the park and go from there. We'll see.
  • So yesterday and today are NSDs to declare, so that's up to 7. Definitely not AFDs though

Went into the village earlier for a mooch round the charity shops, but nothing much doing. An awful lot of overpriced tat.
Got some steak out of the freezer to do something nice for tea, and so far having a nice relaxing day. OH is at work tomorrow so the plan is to do all the washing/drying/ironing then, and make a big vat of soup in the slow cooker for work all week. Also need to make some cakes for work as a few people are leaving.

I occasionally do little 10p or 20p bets on paddypower (started off with £10 in my account there last March, and haven't put any more than that in the account since, but have taken a about £20 out with wins) and every couple of months or so get a £2 freebet to spend on the scratchcards on their site. Got one yesterday and won £6 so that was good. It won't make me my fortune but it's nice to play about with a bit of free money and makes for good fun while watching various sports (as I tend to do a lot).

Still plodding on with TAB scratchcards while that lasts, did play a few games with winnings a few weeks ago so I think I'm ok for now.

Need to book a hotel or hostel for trip to london next week, OH doesn't like me doing hostels on my own but I don't have a problem with them. Have seen a cheap room on travelstay near to where we're going so I'll probably go for that. Will get OH to book on his card so as not to ruin the NSD - you only pay a deposit with travelstay so it'll only be about £3 anyway.
  • Went to argos today as OH needs some new hair clippers (very money saving, I highly recommend it if you have any lads in the house). Paid for them with nectar points so in essence they were free! Popped in to TK Maxx and managed to resist the David and Goliath t shirts they had in there.

NSD number 8 today. Sold 6 things on ebay today. One already has been paid for so that will be posted tomorrow. Invoices sent for the rest so am hopeful they might pay today so I can get everything sent at once. Got some more things ending throughout the week so we'll see how they go. Was pleased at some of the prices the clothes went for, I'd have been happy with 99p! Well it all adds up and will go towards the debt. And it's stuff out the house, which is the main thing.
  • Posted out 4 ebay things today, so it was a spend day today, and will be tomorrow as two more have paid for their stuff. Waiting for two more people to pay and 5 things finishing tomorrow and Wednesday (only one with a bid so far though). Probably made about £20 after postage and fees, which is better than nothing.
AFD yesterday and today, which I'm pleased with. Soup and salad for lunch which was delicious and healthy. Same again tomorrow.
  • Well had a bit of a blip yesterday as it was two for tuesdays at dominos... but apart from that I've been good. Total amount after postage made on ebay is about £40, which is alright for a load of old tat, and payday friday. No NSDs this week due to ebay posting but both monday and tuesday have been AFDs and I'm hoping today will be too.
Still taken lunch into work every day, so that's another challenge going ok. Still haven't brought any clothes but I'm seriously tempted by the Ed Hardy stuff on sale at amazon. Have been using up change here there and everywhere too which is helping in that notes are staying in my purse for longer. Have had a couple of surveys and got a £5 voucher on bingoport. Mealplanning isn't really happening (apart from for the next day and for lunches for work, but I guess that's a start). Not bad for nearly 2 weeks in!
  • Waiting for two more people to pay for ebay stuff and then that will all be done. No NSDs this week as I've been to the post office every day! Have just withdrawn £41 from paypal though so that's not bad for a few minutes work and getting rid of some old tat. Going out tomorrow and have already got some money out for that and it's payday tomorrow. Have paid an extra £71 off the credit card and the paypal money will go towards the card as well.
I did treat myself to a new T shirt - reduced from £70 to £20 and cost me £15 because I had a voucher. Naughty but it is payday and was a bargain. I'm just trying to resist having a nice glass of wine.
  • Had a weekend away and therefore have spent far too much money. Ah well, had a fab time so well worth it. Back to the swing of NSDs tomorrow I think.
Need to throw some carrots and lentils in the slow cooker for soup for next week's lunches. 2nd load of washing is in the machine so there's a pile of ironing to be done later. I did want to go for a walk but it's absolutely throwing it down at the moment so I'd say it's highly unlikely I'll be leaving the house never mind going for a walk!
  • Feel like I'm back in the swing of things after the weekend. Had to get petrol yesterday, but first NSD today, and yesterday and today both AFDs too. I'm doing better on AFDS than NSDs which is most unlike me!
Gorgeous new T shirt arrived so that's my clothing craving sorted for the month. Lunches are sorted for the week, got plenty of petrol, plenty of food in the house, so fingers crossed for the rest of the week!
  • Was waiting for two items to be paid for on ebay but just had payment through for one, at last! Only a week after the auction finished - some people take the proverbial! Still, money is money and better in my pocket than theirs. Still need to get rid of the unsold stuff - don't think it's worth relisting as it really was tat.

NSD and ASD today. Will need to do a bit of shopping tomorrow and there will obviously be postage for the ebay item too. Apart from that I don't think there's much needed. Not going out friday, might be saturday.

Work's absolutely manic but I'm finally getting my caseload down which means work will be slightly more manageable for the time being. I say slightly more but local authority cuts can only lead to more work and less money to do it with. Some interesting cases at the moment but challenging is not the word! I do love my job though (you have to love it, you'd be mad otherwise).
  • Spend day but AFD today. Only spent £6.50 in asda which is quite impressive for me. Stuck to the list and everything. Posted ebay parcel and sorted a few things workwise. Not a bad day all round.

Just need to avoid the chocolate icecream left over from when Ben and Jerrys was on special offer at asda. Must avoid!
