Good luck with paying off your debt. Sorry to hear about your OH. It is really hard to deal with any form of addiction. Have you got him banned from all the bookies and casinos' around by you? It is part of the responsible gambling code or something to stop peeps going in who have asked to be banned due to gambling addiction. and I am assuming you have him banned from internet sites too?

Hope that he can see the light soon

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • Ah thanks Chevalier, I had no idea I could get him banned from bookies (fortunately, it is only bookies, ironically he used to work in a casino so knows they're a con), I've often threatened to go round them all with a photo and tell them not to serve him, nice to know I can actually do that!

Starting the New Year resolutions early, there's another load of washing in, and two bags of clothes to go to the charity shop. I'm being ruthless and if I haven't worn it for a year it's going. And if I can't fit into it it's going. Think I might do the kitchen next.... may as well make the most of this fit of excitement!
  • Well NYE was the most amazing night ever. Spent a fortune, but worth every penny. Now back to reality and debtbusting.

No alcohol yet this year (a whole one day, whoohoo!), today should be a NSD as I'm not leaving the house (it's snowing quite heavily), and so far 5 bags of stuff ready for the charity shop.

Happy and positive new year everyone. I'm feeling really good about this year.
  • So far 1 NSD, 2 AFDs and have signed up to the DFW weightloss challenge. I'm hoping not drinking will assist with that one.

Am trying to put off going food shopping til tomorrow because then I can go on the way home from work (thus saving on petrol). I've worked out I've got £100 to last until payday (15th).
    so that means
    £20 petrol
    £30 food shopping
then the rest for emergencies (and at this rate it means proper emergencies).

Looks freezing outside so I think I'll stay in again today!
  • petrol purchased, £31.60 food shopping to last until a week friday (yay for the reduced section!). It's still soooooo cold here, I had to scrape ice off the inside of the windscreen on the car this morning!
  • Unexpected NSD today, as I was snowed in. Would have liked to have been in work, but with no buses and no chance of digging the car out there was just no way I'd get there. Will try again tomorrow.
Also another AFD, although OH is trying to persuade me with a Baileys "to keep out the cold" lol.
  • Had to buy a bus ticket today as there was no way in hell I was driving! Really pleased I got into work though, as it was a good laugh as basically anyone who lived nearby turned up and we all piled into the one office with about 5 heaters. And I got loads of work done which is a nice bonus!

Money wise have put aside enough money for bus tickets for the rest of the week in case the snow is really bad. That way it won't interfere with planned NSDs! Been alcohol free again too, I'm not actually missing it today, although out on Friday so we shall see how that goes.
  • Bit of good news, phoned to see how much was left that we owed on this year's council tax, to find out that we're actually £4.82 in credit!
One week til payday. The sooner it gets here the better!
  • So, £65 later the car has moved and fingers crossed I should get to work tomorrow. Realistically I'm going to need a newer car sooner or later though.

By the end of today, will have managed 5NSDs, 10AFDs, lost 2lbs, and 5 days til payday. £15 left due to various emergencies (the car, lending brother £30, two days bus fare due to the weather). Don't think we need any food or anything else between now and then.

fingers, toes and everything else will be crossed in hope of the car behaving itself tomorrow.
  • Made it to payday! Work was hellishly busy today, so was extremely tempted to head straight for the wine aisle. Decided not to and went for the reduced section instead, got some nice cheese and pate and biscuits. Am now snacking on biscuits which is no good for the weigh in tomorrow!
The car is being good, which is a good job as it's been needed this week.
OH is not being good but I've given up and told him I'm not lending him any more money.
Am now up to 8NSDs, 15AFDs (this is the longest I've been without a drink since I was 12. That's probably quite worrying. I'm finding it easier than I expected though, although I'm definitely looking forward to next weekend!), been doing the "take your lunch in to work and don't spend challenge" and that's going well, I'm actually enjoying what I'm eating a lot more too.
Have a good weekend everyone :)
