Evening! Haven't posted for a few days, but that's mostly cos I haven't done much. However, I am now sub 10k! (£9820 to be exact)
The next few weeks are going to be exceedingly tight, but I did manage to get the parental christmas pressies sorted so that's one thing out of the way.
Off to update my sig!0 -

Lol I've started writing it down, which is a start. Should be able to get a few months in for the January wage.0 -

Pay day tuesday and not a moment too soon! Have managed to get through the majority of the Christmas parties without spending too much, although I am in my overdraft this month which I'm not happy with (£50 but it's still annoying).
Pay rise has finally come through at work so the back pay is going two thirds straight to the credit card and one third to treat myself to something (don't know what yet, I don't need anything really).
Have just redeemed a £10 voucher from Valued Opinions, £10 from butlins bingo and £5 from virgin bingo. Am all finished up now on bingobritain unfortunately, though it was nice while it lasted.0 -
Ugh, rant time.
OH fell off the gambling wagon again, so the extra money I had has had to go to pay the mortgage this month. I'll also be buying my own Christmas present, this after I've already got all of his family presents. I'm usually reassuring and supportive with him when he mucks up, but this time I've told him he's ruined Christmas, New Year and my birthday and it'll be a long time before I forgive him. I've also taken his bank card off him and have started opening all post that comes into the house. He's currently working all the hours god sends to build up enough overtime to start paying things off. At least if he's working he's not gambling.
So I'm fed up. Makes me wonder why I bother.0 -
Hi tiny :hello:
Congratulations on all your achievements so far. You're doing really well.
Sorry to hear your OH has fallen off the wagon. That must be hard when you're making all that effort to clear debt. Is there any chance you could get him in to matched betting? Sounds like he'd be really good at it and there is no risk whatsoever. Just a thought.
I'm about to fall off the 'no chocolate' wagon.
Have a lovely christmas. :rudolf:Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

thanks!
Am feeling better after having a rant lol, and am consoling myself with a bar of chocolate.
He just needs to stay away from gambling full stop, as he can't stop. He doesn't have the discipline for matched betting. He doesn't even have the discipline for free scratchcards. He does get a good overtime rate so I reckon he's better off at work as much as possible lol.
have a good xmas and new year!0 -
well christmas... meh. Glad it's over. So far this week I've had family members ending up in casualty due to falling over, needed a new tyre on the car, DVD recorder's broken, tumble dryer doesn't work, and an OH who doesn't seem particularly bothered about us being skinter than a very skint thing.
looking forward to NYE and all that it entails with new starts, new opportunities and a chance to wipe the slate clean.
Plans for new year are
1) exercise more
2) take lunch to work every day
3) lots of NSDs (have signed up to the challenge for 15)
4) less alcohol
5) use up all the products in the bathroom
6) declutter
7) mealplan
8) Not spend anything else on the credit cards
9) Pay off both loans (should be november 2010)
10) start paying off the CCs some more
11) less time on the internet, more time sorting the house
12) not buy clothes unless I need them.
I can't carry on like this, so I really need to make changes.
Hopeful new year for me.0
