  • Awwww thanks for all the comments.

Novagirl I may start braving ebay again. It's been a while because of all the changes that have taken place over the year (small sellers getting shafted lol). Most of the stuff genuinely is crap, but there are some books - maybe I could try amazon? Think I'll wait until the postal strikes are over though.

Have had a good day today. It's 3 days til payday and the bank balance is still in credit. Paid £50 off one of the credit cards so that's good. Spent £3.50 in tesco on essentials and had a voucher for free bread. 20p made on the scratchcards, 20p made on onepoll. Lunch to take to work is planned for the week, so just evening meals to sort out.

Having an alcohol free week (that's the plan) but will struggle with any exercise due to a massive blister on the bottom of my foot that's rubbing against every shoe I try to wear. It's really annoying because I want to be exercising more I'm actually enjoying it now.
  • Still haven't done any exercise eeek! This weather's just making me so tired.

NSD today, 35p on the scratchies, no alcohol again. Feel better for that. Can't wait for payday.
  • Had an amazing weekend, spent a bit much but it was definitely worth it. Back to the debtbusting now though. Did a week's shopping today for £25. Got carrot and lentil soup doing in the slow cooker to that will be lunch for the rest of the week. No plans for going out or spending any money for the next few weeks either.

The best news is I'm getting a pay rise. It's been in negotiation for ages, and now it's happening. It'll make such a big difference, as long as I can be sensible with it. There are various things I need (new glasses, a long overdue trip to the dentist) but at least I can pay for that now without having to put it on the credit card.

OH is being a numpty moneywise again but things on the whole are looking up at last.

Good luck with your plans - and well done on what you've achieved so far :D

  • Spent too much on wine last night! Eek. It was fun though. Have actually managed to cut down on the alcohol consumption this week despite that (no drinking monday to thursday, which is unusual for me).
Am currently supposed to be writing a uni assignment, one third is done and the rest planned, so should hopefully be finished by the end of tomorrow. Got pizza and wine for X Factor tonight, so today should be this week's second NSD (only second? That's bad for me, and usually means I've been spending money on crap at work).
    Ah well, onwards and upwards.
  • Haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but things have been going some good, some bad. Good is that I haven't spent much myself. Bad is that the OH is a numpty. However, I think I've finally got through to him and he knows no more bail outs so hopefully this is well and truly LBM for him.

I'm on a mission now. By the end of 2009 I should be a bit under 10k so that's good.

Payday Friday, which I'm very much looking forward to. Intending to hibernate all weekend.
  • Just spent £200 on glasses. Much needed though. 2 for 1 at Specsavers. Still. Eeeeek!

Got a letter from the bank today - we've noticed you don't pay off your credit card in full every month, would you like to contact us to discuss your options. Er, no I wouldn't actually. Did that before and they tried to get me to take out a loan.

Been doing BB, £50 up so far.
Redeemed £10 on each scratchcard this week too, and had some things finally validate on quidco so hopefully that'll come soon.

Am coming down with something I think so I'm going to snuggle up with a bottle of wine and X Factor.

Keep up the good work and snuggle away if you're coming down with something.

That's a good idea, somehow I never considered glasses to go in the medical bit on the SOA. They should do though, I love my glasses (and I'm blind without them).
Fortunately these were already budgeted for (out of pay rise at work that was backdated for a few months) but definitely something I need to consider in future.
  • It's crazy how expensive glasses are, isn't it. Mine will need replacing next year sometime and I know it's going to make a hole in the budget! I think bugetting for those sorts of spends is an excellent idea - realistically I know mine last me three years at a time - my eyes change very little these days and when they need replacing it's usually because the old ones are just getting a bit past it! That'd mean I'd only have to set aside about £8 a month to have the money there ready for the next set. Good plan!

You're still doing well TC, and well done getting your OH to see the light also. I'm with you on the "snuggling down indoors" thing this evening - may well even go and pop my lovely new LaSenza Jammies on in a while and get my fleece blanket out! :D
