Not Tiny, Not Courageous, but definitely in debt

Well I know the lottery isn't moneysaving, but I do have an occasional go and I won £91! When you play online you get an email saying "we have news about your ticket", and it gets your heart racing, only to find you've won like a tenner or something, so £91 is fab and not to be sniffed at. Once it hits the bank account it'll go into the savings pot.0

I know what you mean about the email getting your heart racing although I'm lucky if I've made £2.40 on a £2 ticket! £91 is great! Enjoy.

Well made up with £91, friend got 4 numbers recently and got £35!
NSDs yesterday and today, on the grounds that baby has a cold and is grumpy so haven't really left the house.
Am 3/5 of the way through putting CDs onto the computer. It's crazy how much money I've spent over the years.0 -
Well, it's been a stressful few days as baby's been in hospital with bronchiolitis, but he's home now.
Payday last Wednesday, so now the debt is down to £5650. This month is the last one of a reasonable wage (down to SMP after that) so will try again to save as much as I can. I have a full tank of petrol, a house full of food, and should in theory just need bread, cheese, milk, baby milk and nappies.
Half way through the CDs now. Got a few to ebay. Trying to get the ebay pile growing so that I can list some more stuff soon.0 -
Oh, and coming out of the hospital today I had a flat tyre. OH has pumped it up but both of my rear tyres were advisories on my MOT so I shall be shelling out for new tyres this weekend probably. That should be £100.0

Haven't done the tyres yet as OH got one pumped back up and it's looking like a slow puncture. He's going to sort it during the week for me hopefully.
Yesterday I gave notice to cancel with Vodafone, requested they move my number to PAYG so I can transfer it to t-mobile/EE. Contract's up 8th March. Also have written to the gym to cancel membership.
Today was a NSD but tomorrow I need to order a new filter for the perfect prep machine. I'm resisting buying a new Kipling purse but I don't need one and it's definitely a want not a need so I'm going to continue resisting.
2 shelves of CDs left to go. My brother's given me a substantial list of what he wants so I shall get packing those once I've finished, and then I can start the music magpie madness. There's a few worth listing on ebay (old Now CDs, surprisingly) so they're in the selling pile. Then to start on the books...
Need to meal plan for the week as I'd like to avoid the supermarket for anything other than bread. The freezer is nearly empty now so we'll be able to defrost that soon.
I have a pile of ironing that needs doing. I also need OH to pick his clothes up off the floor and put them in the wash basket otherwise they won't get washed!0 -
9 more things listed on ebay, and another pile ready to list. 3 bids already, and a few watchers so fingers crossed.
Had several NSDs as we've not been out. Paid off another £50 on the credit card to get it down to £1500 and put £150 in savings so will see whether I can manage on what's left.0 -
Am slowly filling the charity shop bags and ebay piles. My ebay theory is list it once, if it doesn't sell, it goes to the charity shop.
Haven't managed to menu plan but haven't been to the shops either. Will be doing stir fried soya chunks with mushroom and rice tonight. Lunches are easy because of Approved Food - lots of meals that just need hot water poured over them!
I've ordered some scrap books to put some old photos in, and also to do one for baby with all the congratulations cards etc. They were cheap so that'll keep me occupied one day next week!
Am going to make a cake, but not until tomorrow as there is still some to eat that DH got yellow stickered on Tuesday.
I want a new kitchen. And bathroom. And the front room decorating. How can I do these cheaply? Front room is first target.0 -
Totals for January were
18 NSDs
groceries £89.66
lottery £14.00
ebay fees and postage £41.57
petrol and travel £64.30
personal spends £28.90
Not too bad.0 -
Yesterday wasn't a NSD as I ordered some back up storage on ebay and downloaded some music. However, I have now finished the CDs and of the ones no one wants, have a quote for £40 on music magpie so just need to get those boxed up so that they can be sent next week.
I also have a pile of CD singles that I'll try on ebay as a job lot.
Will be starting on the books and DVDs next.
OH has taken baby out for the afternoon so I've just made some cakes and now am relaxing in front of the TV. Might make some royal icing in a bit for a cake as I fancy some eggybread so I can use the yokes for that.
Have some things finishing on ebay tomorrow, need to get some more envelopes but have a fair bit of packaging that I can reuse. Bids on 5 out of 9 things so far.
In decluttering terms, once the CDs have gone I will be very happy, and can start on the next lot of stuff. I have decluttered two cake mixes today (see above) and as I've got the place to myself for a few hours I shall declutter some Milk Tray next.0
