I dont understand LTSB. My wife regular credit her Classic account with 1-2k a month, has 1k overdraft facility. LTSB will not upgrade her account or give her a credit card.

She is on a score of 3 but also has "Credit Policy Decline" mark on her accoount. Any LTSB staff know how long this mark remains on the account?

She has good credit histort and recently been approved for Halifax One Card.

In other hand my brother in law also has LTSB Classic. He logged into his account couple of days ago and was offered Gold, Platinuim and Premier account. He only pays £150 a wk in the account.

Today he received a letter from LTSB saying his credit card limit has been upped from 6.5k to 16k.

    LTSB has strange criteria.

Yep, mate of mine who was on Classic (and was on an IVA - thats how bad with money he was) was upgraded to Platinum and given an O/D and £250 CGC, even with the IVA.

Suffice to say, he maxed out the O/D, has defaulted and is now in the process of going bankrupt.

They have the craziest criteria lol

lol... serve them right!! i would have thought anyone who have IVA will find extemely difficult, if not impossible to obtain credit...something is wrong here....
how the hell your mate managed to do get CGC and o/d?

Yeh but if they get the app in before the iva is processed happy days.

My friend didnt take iva in the end but is on debt management with loads of defaults his total debt was 25k on cards and loans.

Pays £100 a month on that and he got a nationwide acc with 600 o/d and CGC which he is 600o/s every month.

I default a 2800 in 08 with just natwest and still paying a 4 year 12k car finance agreement in the last year now and can't get an o/d at the mo or cgc.

I manage my account with rbs with 2k in amonth and always have good credit balance they gave me a cheque book but no o/d.

    Some lenders don't seem fair.

He was 1 year into his IVA when they upgraded him.

I thought Lloyds TSB have feed link from Experian updated every month with accounts, so if anything is adverse, this would show up?? Or am I wrong here???

Lloyds TSB do not credit check when upgrading accounts, but what i am confused about for some people who have good standing with Lloyds is consistent refusal to upgrade accounts when there is no requirements/criteria...some people have premier accounts minus £500 interest free o/d.

I'm forever getting asked to upgrade to a Plat/Prem account from my Classic Gold account.

The CSA's try to convince me that I'm going to see some kind of massive benefit for the price of relieving some of my cash from me, whereas I always turn it round and convince them that maybe they should look at what I currently pay for my account (Zilch !!) before coming up with daft suggestions.

They usually agree when they bother to look !

Nah, just offered Classic and Silver - Internal rating of "99 - Credit Policy Decline"..

But Lloyds internal ratings are scaled from 1-9, 1 being excellent, 9 being extremely poor.

Apparently, I'm 99. I've asked and have been told that it my rating.
