Hi MSE users
I received an invitation from Lloyds TSB (via post) to upgrade my Lloyds Platinum Account to Premier Account.
I understand this particular account is normally for customers who have a good standing with Lloyds TSB....and that it is difficult to obtain this type of account...or am I wrong and that it is open to anyone who is willing to pay £25 quid a month?

they offered me silver when I applied and I declined. I have had the acc 3 months asked for gold this month put about a grand through the acc but my wages go to the joint. They told me I wasn't elligible. I have managed my acc properly but only 3 months and opened go savings accs with small balances.
I would like to known how to get a gold acc.0 -
When I joined them, they offered me any account I wanted. I took the Premier account for £12.50 (half price) for 18 months...
But it went up to £25 again this month so I downgraded it to Gold :P0 -

How did you managed to get Lloyds to offer you half price of £12.50 for 18 months?
Does anyone have a picture of Lloyds PREMIER visa debit card?0 -

Yes it is based on credit scoring during application process that will determine which accounts you are eligible for.
I opened my account and was approved for all accounts but decided to have Platinum. When i wanted to upgrade to Premier, i was declined.
Now i have been invited to upgrade by letter, i guess they must have reviewed my account and decided i am now eligible to upgrade.0 -

Wait for another 3 months as it is standard procedure they will not upgrade you for 6 months or more after account opening.
I take it you are a foreign national? And you just moved to UK? They are offered either classic or silver for people new to UK as they don't have a credit history.0 -

No just have poor credit. I got into a pickle with natwest o/d 2-3 years ago and have had a rbs key acc since and they have given my a normal acc now and I have two credits cards but when I applied to lloyds all I have is contract phone for a year and 3 year into a 4 year finance deal. I have take out two cc and now rebuilding my file.
Will they give me a gold account with only 500 quid of so going through the acc?0 -
I honestly can't answer your last question there. Give it another 3 months, but yeah do put £500 quid into the account regularly. The more you use it and the more you credit the account monthly, all the better.0

Is this the current design for Lloyds TSB account cards?
Green = classic/silver
Gold = Gold account
Silver = Platinum account
Black = Premier
Or have they been discontinued/made by request?0
