  • Hey Novagirl, that's a good resolution. An emergency fund always comes in handy!!

I'm lucky that I don't have to buy food for Christmas as we go to my Mum & Dad's - I'd be in a proper state by now if I had to cook Christmas lunch :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Had a lovely lunch out today. We spent about 4 hours in the restaurant just chillin and chatting which was great. Had a bit of a spat with my Dad as to who would pay the bill - he won so it was more MSE for me!! I would have gladly paid though as it was such a lovely afternoon and worth every penny.

Lots to do tomorrow. Want to buy some concert tickets for hubby's Chrimbo present and a few bits and pieces to clear up. Not really motivated to work but I will attend!!! Got a few things to take back from my mad shop on Friday so a bit of dosh will be returned to my account!

    Have a good evening x

Glad to hear you had such a lovely meal out NDD.

Hope the house revamping is going well jo! You aren't online so I assume at this point you may be wrapped up in fairy lights and wrestling with some decorations!

Wished I could wrap my presents, unfortunately got kids here and need them out the way before I can get everything out. OH and DD1 are both working so looks like I'll have to take them round my mums for an hour to get some peace! I can't risk getting everything out late at night as DS likes to wander in at random times throughout the night!

  • Manic! manic! manic!

This week has been so busy - the office party, still wrapping (will I ever get it finished?!!), ice, last minute shopping......

Still continuing to pay my daily £1s and really looking forward to Christmas day.

I finish work at noon tomorrow and then I can finish some odd bits of wrapping before chilling out! Can't wait to see the children's faces on Christmas morning........:T:T

I'm trying really hard to have a good Christmas but keep worrying about where the money is going to come from to pay bills next year. I was the only one bringing money into the house and obviously now that I'm on maternity leave my pay packet is dramatically reduced.

Whenever i build up a savings pot, there's always an unexpected bill that pops up :( Don't think I'll be able to have much time off work and will end up back there within a month.

Still trying to pay my £1s a day just to stop the interest looking so bad when the bill comes.
  • Merry Christmas!

Novagirl, things will work out for you. Try not to worry too much and look after yourself over the weekend. Sending you big hugs :grouphug:

We have just opened the presents. Can't believe all the time I spent wrapping for the paper to be ripped off in seconds!!! Had some fabulous moments when DS and DD opened things they really wanted (that weren't expensive!!).

We're off to my parents for Christmas lunch and staying overnight so we can have a drink and won't have to pay the earth for a taxi home - very MSE eh?!!

    Have a great day everyone.
