Hello NDD and LL! Hope you are both still motivated.
We've just ot our home insurance renewal through again and managed to say £8 a month by going through another company. Very impressed as that can go on our debts.
Have been busy comping and sold some giftcards which has helped with the bills this month.0 -
Hi Guys

We are still muddling along with regards to getting debts paid off. OH has a new full time job and I'm back to work in December. I won an adventure holiday in Turkey recently and some GHDs today so things are fab here.0 -
Hello!
Well, I haven't posted for ages and ages. I have completely fallen off the DFW wagon, left my husband, my darling Dad left our world, my job is the complete nightmare, I'm in more debt than when I last posted......
But, now I'm awake again!
I don't have a minute to waste, as despite all my set backs, I WILL be debt free by July 2012.
I'll be totting up my total debt over the next week and will be back in the New Year to re-start my journey.
Merry Christmas to you all. I wish you a joyous, peaceful and abundant 2011 :santa2:0 -
NDD, it's great to have you back on the boards. So sorry to hear about what has been happening in your life since we last spoke. Feel free to PM me if you want to moan any time. We are going all guns blazing at our debts now too!0

Good Morning!
I've been up for ages as I have lots to do today - my aim is to get the house back into some sort of normailty before school and work routines begin again tomorrow. I've also taken the opportunity to take a look at the goals I made yesterday and set some new ones for 2011. On reflection, I didn't achieve as much as I wanted goals wise, but from a personal point of view I have gained a fantastic insight into my personal power and also survived challenging situations including the death of my Dad and the breakdown of my marriage. My key words for 2011 will be creativity, excitement, adventure, strength, courage and personal power!
I have decided to set quarterly goals:
1. Look After Myself
With 2 young children, a challenging career and a house to keep clean and tidy, I MUST spend more time on myself. This doesn't mean that I'm going to be completely selfish but I am going to "reclaim" some time for me! I figure that if I feel great and am not so tired all the time, I won't spend money for the wrong reasons (i.e. "treating" myself) and will become a greater asset to those around me. I need to be fit and vital to nurture and support my family and those around me.
2. Health & Wellbeing
As a family we do eat well but I want to make sure that all our food is planned and I go for a swim and sauna at least twice a week. I am also going to train for a half marathon.
I am currently overweight at 12 stones 1lb - I would like to reach 10 stones not by dieting but through healthy eating and exercise.
3. Get Organised!
I will be making a list every Thursday which will include all the things that need to be done during the week. This way I won't get to beat myself up for things I've forgotten about and can make sure that I am spending my time on tasks that will lead to my future quality of life and cut down on "meaningless" chores.
4. Declutter
This is so important. My house and therefore life is cluttered at the moment so this will be a major focus for me.
5. MSE Challenges
a) £11K during 2011
b) Sealed Pot Challenge - I have 3 tins on the go and once they are full I'll start again!
c) Daily £1s, Packed lunches and NSDs - The daily £1s have helped motivate me so I'll continue with them. My aim is to take a packed lunch to work every day (every time I achieve this I'll contribute £3 towards my debts). Aim to have at least 15 no spend days every month.
6. Work Towards a Career Change
I would like to be less dependant on income generated from working "for others" and would like to have my own business at some point.
7. Monthly Challenge
I will set myself a challenge every month which could be MSE related but may also be something I need to complete.
8. LIVE IN THE PRESENT
I spend too much time analysing/thinking of the past and worrying about the future. The only time we have is NOW! I will try to learn from the mistakes of the past and will plan for my future - but not at the expense of ENJOYING EVERY MINUTE OF THE PRESENT.
I will concentrate less on the tired worn out solutions I keep on trying! I'll use as much creativity and excitement to make my debt free journey a challenge and as enjoyable as possible.
Have a great day!0 -
Go for it NDD!0
