    Evening everyone

A late update from me, only got home just after 7, stopped in at my mums for a brew as she had picked ds up from school.

Nothing much o/s today, apart from the pile of washing up that I have done (Would love a DW). Going to put wm on overnight on timer, as need to get it all dry for Sunday and don't have a tumble dryer.

Bargainbird - hope that the offender gets what he deserves.
sistercas - hope your friend and her son sort things out
Bitsy - Well done on the grading from Ofsted:T
Taplady - hop you feel better soon
Cranky & George - thinking of you both

Hugs to anyone else who needs one.

Good evening and thank you for all of your kind thoughts.

Not much in the way of os to report today, just some washing and a bit of tidying round and paperwork. I have had a lovely email from Paul's boss on the ship (I have spoken to him in the past anyway, so he's not a new person to me).

He took the time to describe Paul's last day and evening on the ship, and has kindly warned me that Paul's luggage is on it's way home (personal effects doesn't even begin to describe the amount of stuff that he took with him) and quite frankly I'm dreading it's arrival. He has bought so many bits and pieces for George and I while he's been away...... I also had 2 postcards and a letter from Paul today. A bit surreal, but good in a strange kind of way.

Take care all of you, and thank you again!

p.s. I removed a huge spider from my washing up bowl today and George asked me not to put it outside because it was cute. It went out - when they start sharing the bills they can stay indoors.

sistercas - (((hugs))) to your friend. Get a spider catcher - I'm scared stiff too but they are really good and even I can use them:D THIS is what I mean.

Cranky - you are being incredibly brave, it must have been very emotional for you reading those letters. x x x

Good News! I got the spider:j:j:j:D it made the mistake of crawling up the wall behind the TV which gave me good access to it:D he's now out it the garden probably trying to get back in:D

Evening gang, Very quick one as this laptop is seriously playing up. Logged on about 6.30 and haven't been able to do anything. Keeps turning itself off. Very bad news as the desktop isn't working and this is (particularly since I have been injured) is my only means of communication with the real world. (pathetic I know)
    Things ok other than that.
Have only read three posts:mad: sorry.
Jayne & George. Love and prayers as ever.
Taplady(and all) I know this might seem weird(so no change then) I love house spiders(and garden ones as well) not over keen on "exotic" ones but think the domestic ones are cute.
Before we got married I used to regularly go to various friends houses to "rescue" them from scary spiders:rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway, really don't want to lose this so will say bye for now.
    Hugs and love to all.
Hope I'm back tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
    Take care,
    Ann xxx
P.S. Am so stressed about the lappy I missed the first hour of the HOYS:eek:

Cranky - you are so brave, I hope your husband's letters brought you some comfort.

Tonight I have made apple crumble with the apples my colleague gave me, and some carrot cake muffins :) really pleased with myself.

My brother decided not to come for dinner tonight, but will be visiting me tomorrow instead!

    Good evening all.

Thanks to all who've sent good wishes for my DGS :D He's fine now thanks, and I've stopped worrying. ( little lie, as you all know, you never stop worrying about your kids, and when they have kids.............:D:rolleyes:)

AussieLass, I hope that you have noted ivyleaf DID get one or two words in :p:p
:wave:ivyleaf, hope the jaw is improving. That sounded like fun and games with the cake, sounds delicious though. Might beg the recipe from you :D

Bitsy well done on your assessment :T:T:T Makes all that effort worthwhile!
Bargainbird, I do hope your DBIL's body is released soon. It must be so very hard on the family to be in this limbo situation.

Jayne ((((hugs))) to you and George. Those cards and letter will be very precious, but oh so bittersweet. Take care xx

Not managed too much OS today, spent loads of time ferrying people around. But I did make a huge batch of butternut squash soup. We had a big steaming bowl with HM ( panasonic :p) seedy bread, and there's loads left for tomorrow which will please DS3 when he comes over. I did promise him carrot cake, so I've been trying to find a recipe using wholemeal SR flour, as I bought that specially a few weeks ago. Never made one before, and the recipes are all so different. Decisions, decisions :o:o:rotfl: I'll have to pop out for soft cheese in the morning since I really want that for the topping and I don't have any left.
Well done on the crochet PenPen, I'm sat here finishing off a granny square blanket I started 18 months ago. I love to crochet, it's so amenable to being picked up and put down again, just got out of the habit I suppose

Well I'm off to search some more, I know the perfect recipe is out there somewhere ;)

    Evening everyone.

Had a good day here, made bread, scones, flapjacks and taught OH to make Sponge cake.
It's a bit more like spongebob square pants though, than sponge cake, as he took it out of the oven too soon because I was in the loo and he didn't want it to burn! So it's a bit heavy and undercooked, but it's a good first effort and would have been fabby if it had been fully cooked. We ate it, so that tells you everything you need to know!! Oh and we had HM pizza for dinner.
Also had some fab news that he will be going back to work on the 24th of this month. Thank goodness. It's been a tough year for us, he's barely earned a penny, and if it hadn't been for DMIL I don't know how we would have survived at times. But it's ending on a great note, I have my new job, he has this one, so roll on 2010 for me, but not for the reasons I've been thinking lately. It's a huge relief, but I'm under no illusions it will be easy to rebuild our savings and be able to relax a bit about money. We haven't done that for such a long time, I was so stressed.

I'm sorry that ended up being a bit longer a more personal than I expected, I may come back later and delete it, I'm not sure how I feel about spilling my guts.

I was on the phone today to a dear friend who has just found out her OH has been cheating on her and their 2year old DD for 18 months with someone almost young enough to be their daughter. My heart is broken for her, they seemed so perfect together, it's such a shame he couldn't see or feel that. It's very hard to know what to say. There's so much heartache around just now, I feel guilty for feeling happy at last.

Hope everyone is well, thanks for the info about FE the other day, Haribo, I hope you're (mis)behaving yourself! Hugs to Jayne and George, what a wonderful gift from your husband, just when you need him near. Anyone else who needs a hug, have one of mine, there's always plenty of space in my circle of love! ( I know it sounds yukky, but that's what me and my 2 DS's call them!)

    Night night.

PS meant to say to churchmouse, I am also on the eternal search for the perfect Carrot Cake recipe. I had a canadian one many years ago with crushed pineapple in, but I lost it on one of my many house moves when I was young, and have never found one to replicate it, give me a shout if you find a good one please!

I hope 2010 is a great year for you too.

Just popped on because I forgot to congratulate Catznine's DD on her engagement yesterday.
And to say well done Bitsy. :T

Churchie.... This is the one I use. ;)

And to wish Cranky a peaceful night. How comforting to get those words from Paul and what a lovely man from the ship who emailed you. xxxx

Quiet evening here. OH has conked out on the sofa so I have the new mattress all to myself until he stumbles up in the wee small hours.

Have no plans for tommorrow so am hoping for an OS pottering day. ;)
