Being a bit naughty and quickly popping on here to say I've had my inspection from Ofsted and I have been graded Good

That is soooooooooooo what I was aiming for (grading goes as follows: Inadequate, Satisfactory, Good and Outstanding). You cannot wipe the smile off my face LOL!
My inspector was lovely, really friendly - told me I had a nice setting (what they refer to my home as.....) and that I interacted with the kids really well. I am so chuffed - am definately going to have a drink to celebrate.
Anyway better dash - mindee is watching Cbeebies to chill for a bit as she's tired!
Catch up with you all tomorrow

Well done Bitsy - you deserve it after working so hard on all the preparation.
I spoke to dd this morning who tells me that she was talking to an editor last night who might commission her to do reviews of luxury hotels and restaurants on her six months abroad. It wouldn't surprise me if it came off - she's always had the luck of the Irish (without a drop of Irish blood in her).
OS this weekend will be continuing with the decorating of the spare bedroom and probably picking out a new carpet for it (ok that's not OS but we'll try to be moneysaving about it).0 -

Hi Ladies,
I've been MIA for the past two days; no real excuse just off doing stuff, including chopping my hair off as an in-between do before going short for chemo. I was scared stiff of having it done but I quote like it now. I do have a cold neck though now :rotfl:
Today is freezing here so the fire's lit and I don;t feel like straying far from it. I do need to get some tidying done as the kitchen looks like a bomb site but other than that I can meal plan and write a shopping list in the warmth. :T Still determined not to but the heating on but it was so cold this morning I'll admit was a little tempted :snow_laug. The kids on the way to and from college don't seem to have noticed though as they're still wearing short sleeved t shirts. I'm clearly old as I went out with a full coat and scarf!
I got a like new book from the charity shop as a Christmas present for someone who'll appreciate it, which is good and MS.
Breakfast today was fridge emptying omelette
Lunch was anything left that couldn't go in the omelette
Tea is a leftover vegetable biryiani - yum
Haribo - we bought a memory foam mattress a few months back and wouldn't go back to a regular one now, it's just too comfy.
(((hugs))) to everyone that needs them0 -

Afternoon
Bit nippy here now and a little rainy:rolleyes:
I nipped into Dunelm Mill en route today and picked up a thicker duvet, the summer one is just not snuggly enough anymore now there is a nip in the air.
Have been trying to find out what time mum land tomorrow but I can't seem to find out
I know it's Monarch landing at Gatwick early tomrrow but not too sure what time, tried calling the airport but you only ever get an aoutmated service, that really frustrates me when all I want to do is talk to a human:rolleyes:
Tea tonight will be bangers and mash for OH and I will have a jacket spud and beans YUM
I have a Virgin wedding brochure arrived today, we are getting married in Antigua in 2011 and have to chose what hotel:j
Off to do some more w***

Hello,
Sorry that I have posted late but it has been a really busy two days. Im collapsed in my chair now and dont intend to do much tonite...but the WM is on with school stuff.
Thankyou for your good wishes regarding my appointments. It was a very busy day and went fairly well but I still have a lot to sort out with work and my future. I do know now that its highly unlikely that I will ever work as a midwife again. This has now been confirmed by my consultants so have to start thinking. Im starting some new treatment so hopeful that it will work. I didnt get back till late last night and then off this morning with DS1 for his psychological assessment. Poor lad but he did really well. He does have ADHD which I knew but its official. Explains a lot but not an excuse. I treated to a McD on way home - he thought christmas had come early.
Well feeling snoozy.
Bitsy -well done on your assessment.
Good wishes,

Afternoon all,
Spent the morning at a picnic...indoors as it was lashing rain....for DGS2's school, they do it every year and it is nice to see parents, children and other relatives mixing around and chatting, there are only 70 children in the school, so there is a nice friendly atmosphere.
Knee and hip are improved to-day so moving around is easier, can't find prescription I got yesterday so have only 1 anti-inflamatory tablet left, will try to persuade local chemist to give me 4 for Sat and Sun and go back to doctor on Monday for another prescription ( another €50 for him)...still hoping I might find the original.
Steak, chips and leeks for dinner, should get on with it as we eat early on Friday.
Hugs to all in need or want, special thoughts to Jayne and George, congratulations Bitsy, welcome to all newbies and speedy recovery to all who are ill or who have ill family.

Then this afternoon I have my history class, which is one I do strictly for entertainment .My Uni tutor runs it, and we all pick different historical figures to learn about each week. Its really good fun as our tutor is excellent and very amusing .We had an hilarious one a couple of weeks ago about the late Duke of Winsor and his very odd wife the Duchess.
That sounds fantastic Jackie.
My DDs would really like to do something like that. It might just give me an idea
We went to Tutbury castle not so long ago, and had an audience with Elizabeth I, which was fantastic. There's another planned for us to meet Mary, Queen of Scots for early spring.
DDs love learning about history

Good afternoon everyone

Very busy day at work today, as its shutting off period for the month.
Went out for cheap lunch with a friend who used to work here, was lovely to catch up and she's having a hard time of late
Having Chilli tonight with a jacket pot, then round to my friends for wine and chatting, she's just back off her hols. Briefly seen her last night, got a massive lump of rock (the stuff you eat lol), its what its like before they roll it. She went to the place where they make it and said it was amazing to watch!! Get to sit through 300 photo's tonight lol Wish me luck!!!
Hugs to everyone who needs them. TFIF!! xx0
