Would have to get in the loft to find out! Will have a dig and see what I can find. Are you thinking I should re-install it?

I'm thinking you could try using the System File Checker, but reinstalling Vista would probably work too.

Used the link to check drivers and only two out of date, these are: Mobile Intel(R) 4 series express chipset family and In-build conexant type 2 modem. I am guessing these have nothing to do with any audio devices on my laptop? Will get in the loft tomorrow to find vista disc.

Hello, I know its been a while, but I thought I would post to say today (yes its taken me this long) I have finally fixed the sound on my laptop :j:beer:
I had all the correct registry's and files, but the problem was finding wavemapper, when I seached for it in the system 32 file it seemed to be missing, I followed a tutorial online about granting permissions for registry keys (not very tech minded so excuse the simpleton terms!!) under my user name on my laptop, once I changed the permissions the sound came back. Hope this makes sense to someone, or it can help others with no flash sounds, will post link if anyone needs it.
