This looks promising, though it appears to have been written before Vista existed. There is also a debugging tool you might want to try.0

If you've tried all of those solutions and none of them worked, your copy of msacm32.drv may be corrupt. Which version of Vista do you have?0

Just had another - probably useless - thought. Does the sound work on sites when you use IE?0
