ooohhh that sounds lush...didn`t have any bananas at the time. but the cake was gorgeous. and to serve it with whipped cream.....real banoffi cake....
i still have a toffee aroma still lingering in my kitchen....yummmm.

For all those with a Panny, don't know about the other makes but it is quite safe to turn the BM off at the plug to stir the contents from the corners...no need to risk life and limb from flailing paddles:D ..This is a feature of the machine to allow for temporary power cuts of up to 20 mins so the program is not lost...

Okay heres my stupid question- someone suggested apple- does it have to be cooked/steamed first?
Thanks!July Win: Nokia 58000 -
Got some sorry looking bananas & a 2 year old Morphy Richards Fastbake BM. It's a white one with see-through lid. The paddle does not drop down during baking.
Can anyone tell me the best settings & timings to use for the banana bread?:j New Year, New You = 1.5lb/12lb:j0 -

Thanks!
I made one last night using left over stewed apple (quantity I estimated 3 bananas to be) and a teaspoon of cinnamon ...None left as I type so could not have been too bad? ..when mixing a touch more flour may be needed as the apple is wetter.

Having problems with the panasonic bread maker. i choose the pizza setting and leave it on for 5 mins to mix the ingredients up and then stop it. When I press the on button again it will not let me change any settings and seems to go on bake cycle for 4 hrs. Will not let me press any buttons. I have to leave the bread maker off for 20 minutes to that the settings are lost. There must be an easier way ??0

trying to make this recipe at the moment. orginal recipe post 2 says 5 mis pizza setting then 55 mins bake
done 5 mins on dough recipe ( instructions sat use that foe pizza) then put on fast bake which is the shortest time in cooking - but states 1 hr 40 mins.It stated mixing again but has now stopped and is cooking. - Do I leave it in for full cook time???
everyone else on here seems to be able to make bread etc quickly. am I doing something wrong. I have MRichards48285. is this a rubbish machine.
also when I made bread last year it always seemed quite heavy ( not like shop bought) is this the machine, me or thats what 'proper' bread should look like !0 -
thanks for the recipe, just made this in my new (second hand from freecycle) bread machine - very easy and delicious, and a good way of using up over ripe bananas. I only used half a cup of sugar, and a good pinch of mixed spice, it is sweet enough and lovely!0
