My kids love this, so do I. You can play around with the ingrediants, use less sugar, part whole wheat flour, add cinnamon or nutmeg, etc. I have also used other over-ripe fruits like pears and it turned out fantastic.
In the breadmaker bucket, put in any order:
2-3 over-ripe bananas
1 cup (or less) sugar
3 tbsp veg oil
2 eggs
2 cups self-raising flour
Put on pizza cycle for about 5 mins - scrape down the corners with a spatula about 1/2 way through to make sure everything is mixed.
Put on bake cycle for 55 mins.
That's it - very yum especially warm with butter.

Oh thankyou! Sounds yummmmmmmy and my dd with love it but got a couple of q's
How much is a cup of sugar? as I go with metric mostly and My breadMaker dont have a pizza setting but it has a dough and cake fuction...will one of them do??
Thanks MBCant wait to meet Bumpy!:j0 -
My cup measurement also says 250ml.
If you have a cake setting, I think that would work for the whole thing (mixing and baking) as long as you can increase the baking time total to 55 mins.

Phew - found this thread again at last! Searched 'panasonic' and banana and just couldn't find it. Guess I forgot to use caps or something. Found it finally by looking up my profile and then all posts. Going to give this a go tomorrow as picked up a few half price bananas today. Yum yum ;-)

did you like it?

Wow, it was lovely and sooo easy! Yesterday was a bit busy so I didn't get chance to make it (made a lovely apricot and walnut loaf to go with chicken and salad though ;-) Made a loaf of white earlier (starting on the easy stuff!) and then this evening while we were eating dinner the banana loaf was in the BM. It was absolutely lush! I'm going to make another tomorrow as I have 2 bananas left, and I thought I'd throw a few walnut pieces in with it. Another time I'm going to try it with wholemeal flour as I think it'll make a great mid morning snack for the older boys as they eat brekkie before 8am and don't get to have lunch at school until gone 1pm.
It's so easy and satisfying. To me the worst part of baking has always been the cleaning of bowls etc - the BM does away with this entirely. I am a totall convert!!!
Guess what my contribution will be to the school summer fair...... ;-)
Thanks again Lynn,

Just a quick update to say I've tried making with wholemel and its lovely. I've made two loaves with wholemeal plain flour & 4tsp baking powder (in place of white s/r) and about 25g of walnuts(rest of ingredients the same). Although not as scrummy yummy as the white it is more satisfying so lasts a little longer. I think I may need to reduce the time a little though as it is very close to 'burning' on the edges ;-0
