I've just taken my first attempt at this out of the BM. Smells lovely :) However DS2 didn't believe the tin was hot, so stuck his hand on it 2 mins out of the machine - he's now feeling all sorry for himself with a sore mitt :(

BTW - I have the Russell Hobbs Breadman Ultimate and the cake cycle takes 1hr 20 mins to bake - seems fine. However, the test will be in the tasting :D

Just seen this on ebay. Definitely the lowest price I've seen and the guy has good feedback

    JoeyEmma,

Check this one out - it's the machine I (and a few others) have. Comparable to the panny plus it makes jam and has the see through window on the lid. Also, much cheaper here:

    Thanks Ticklemouse.

I actually got my first breadmaker last week from ebay. Its a second hand one that I got for about £12 inc P&P.

I didn't want to buy a super duper one straight off in case I didn't use it. I thought I'd give the basic second hand Goodmans a go and when that dies I'll get a proper one.

The thought of making jam appeals though. Shame I've not got any fruit going in my allotment. I wonder if it makes chutney as well.

Yeah Echo i had to cook mine longer than the 55 mins suggested too and the outside was rather brown but was still edible. All else i can suggest is cut of the bits that are too bad to eat.

Do you think rhubarb might work? I saved some of the stewed rhubarb from last night's crumble in the hope it might. I'll let you know.....
