Cranky...special hugs to you and George.

    Welcome to all the newbies.

Had a lovely week in Sardinia, met up with Caterina (MSE)and some of her family on Sunday for lunch and then she and her OH came and spent the night with us....really lovely time.

My knee and hip have flared up badly and it is painful to walk, dress or bend so I am to have an xray and in the meantime am on anti inflamatories...hate taking the b***dy things but needs must at present.

Snowy good to see you, sorry to hear that your job seeking is not being very fruitful...will change soon I hope.

Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating

....I was tidying one of my workboxes yesterday, and came across some material from when I shortened the kitchen curtains to fit, so that's been pressed with the idea to make something out of it, as there's a reasonable amount, and it's brand new......

Do you have kitchen chairs that would like sprucing up with new seat cushions? Or maybe you could make some table mats & / or napkins?

Are you sticking with CAMRA, LW? I'm asking because although we are members, and occasionally enjoy the members' benefit of discount on beer, we don't go to the local group at all :o (but we do meet them all at the 2 local beer festivals :))..and I wondered if maybe we should?

    Afternoon gang,
Well its official I am losing the plot. More OS dreams.:o
Mark informs me that I was "awake" and lucid(as lucid as I ever get:rotfl: )and was talking to him when he came back from the loo that "we havent got the butter roots or the marsden slice and she needs them:confused::confused::confused: you will have to tell her!" No idea at all.

Then(yes there's more!:o:o)at 4.46 I woke Mark up, was trying to push him out of bed and was shouting htat "we haven't fed the Guniea Pigs" and "The Piggies are hungry" Bless him he was almost out the bedroom door before he reailised that we don't have Guniea Pigs:rotfl::rotfl: He ended up making me a cup of tea at 5am:o
Am feeling a bit stressed so maybe this is the reason for the dreaming:confused:.

Other than that nothing much to report. Have roasted the chicken(it smells fantastic) and soaked some lentils for a lentil loaf. Put some Bicarb/vinegar down all the plugholes and cleaned my bathroom.

I am slightly worried about my geratric freezer(M bought it when he bought his flat a L-O-N-G- time ago) put it this way its over 20 years old(its actually a lot older but I don't want coach loads of history students visiting:rotfl:)
When I was going up last night there was a pool of water that I initially thought was a water bowl that I had kicked(am even more clumsy since hurt myself) anyway, it was the freezer defrosting itself:eek::eek:
It seems ok today but I really can't afford a new freezer particularly this month. I also am very heavily relying on the freezer at the moment. Have loads of Quorn, meals i have made, stock and other "stuff. So fingers crossed please.
Will keep my eye on freecycle but despite getting a bigger car in July we now have far less space to transport things(I don't know either!)
Thriftlady the Tamsin Day Lewis cookbook sounds excellent. May have to succumb to temptation. I saw a great book in Sundays paper that I have to buy. Keep forgetting to bring the paper down from my bedside table. Will do later.
Stef hope your friend gets everything sorted. Also hope all goes well with your DD.
Tired MUm delighted to hear your DS is home. Hugs.
Mean Marie hugs to you. Know excatly where you are comming from.
    Catzine congratulations all round:beer:
Snowy Owl :j:j:j how lovely to see you. How is Dylan?
Jayne & George am thinking of you.
Molly41 your post made me laugh. Hope your hospital visits went well.
Can't find the rest of my list so will post later.

As it is almost 3.30 I will undertake my daily humiliation-the 3.30 RTE news is read in Gaelic. Everyday I try to follow it. Everyday I fail. Everyday I reailise how little know:rotfl: Aw well.

Have a lovely afternoon(its sunny in Manchester)

    Take care,

    Ann xx

    Hi folks

Very pleased with myself today as I managed to prep mince for lasagne & stewing steak with veg to "do" in my dual slow cooker before work this morning.

Did quite well at W**trose yesterday. Picked up their "Slow Cook for £10 deal". Similar to M&S Deal but more real cooking involved. Used my Sun voucher and got £5 off. Made up the £30 spend by only buying stuff I needed or on offer that would be used soon. Need to use some of the food mountain that's appeared in the guise of bargain buying! :o

So lasagne for tea with a second one to go in the freezer along with 2 meals of beef stew!

Also took my food flask to work with some HM celery soup.

Told you I'd come back full of good intentions!!

Hugs to everyone especially Cranky & George. Sorry if I don't mention everyone by name. Realised I need to do more OS instead of reading about others doing it! :o

What an excellent idea; we could do with some more table mats, and I think the material will lend itself to that very well.

Yes, we're still members. We go to as many branch meetings as we can (ie ones held in pubs I can get into with the wheelchair), and I keep the database for our branch's National Beer Scoring Scheme scores. Our branch also has social evenings, but we tend not to go to those, as I'm totally useless at small-talk. Oh, and our beer festival (imaginitively called the Concrete Pint) is at the end of this month.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Ohh so proud of the youngest!!
She sat through the whole thing picking her nose and looking as uninterested as is possible!!

Just come back from DS's little nursery Harvest Assembly and he spent the whole time doing the same thing. Only he used not just one finger but two for the nose picking - that's my boy

Lamewolf - am sure the sauce will work fine with Quorn but no idea about nut loaf as I've never tried that :o

Never a dull moment that's for sure.
I guess I can loosely say he was "harvesting" for himself but we'll leave the discussion of what he was harvesting for another day :rotfl:

Hi Everyone, sorry I missed you all yesterday, didn't have a nosey til almost eleven last night.

Hope you are all well, Cranky and George, warm hugs to you both.
I think "getting back to normal" is a good thing for all of us, and like all your friends on here have told you, you need to do what's right for you. I'm sure you're doing your family proud.

In light of the last few days postings it's nice to see things settling down a bit here, and to see we're all trying to get back to OSing (I'm kidding myself on, I'm too lazy/tired/sore this week, OS for me is cooking dinner!:o).

Plans for the rest of the day.......meeting this evening, then Private Practice and bed!! :T I could sleep for a fortnight, don't know what's up, think the change of the seasons has gotten to me at last. MUST TRY HARDER TOMORROW!

Had to say, the dream about GuineaPigs made me laugh, how OS isn't that, eating Guinea Pigs, you don't get much meat on them!!! (and me a vegetarian too!)
