    Morning all

Gosh it's turned cold here this morning! But it's absolutely boiling in my workplace! They have replaced the boiler in the really old building I work in. We work in the basement (but have windows!) right next to boiler room so it is rather tropical in here! It makes it hard to decide what to wear, as I walk to work in the cold but then need to strip off slightly here!

I have an Adminy day in work getting ready for my new batch of young people starting on Monday. I can't believe that at the end of this group's 10 week course it will practically be Christmas and I'm flying off to New Zealand for 3 weeks :)

Not much OS wise today. I'm going to see Toy Story in 3D later which I'm rather excited about. I have vouchers for cinema so it's half price.

    Have good day all

    Morning peeps

Its lovely and sunny here cold though.

WM nearly finished so will get that out when it's done, whether it will dry I dont know but at least it will smell lovely when I bring it back in :D

Had muffins for brekkie may be going out for lunch dont know yet waiting for friend to get back to me, if we do go no cooking for me today, makes a change, and if not it's a quick scrabble round in the freezer for something I made earlier;)

OH measuring up a new kitchen window, then he is off to the trade place to order it, will be glad to get it sorted before the winter sets in. The seals gone and the handle is a bit iffy, he can get trade price and fit it himself so it will be done in no time:T

Got Mums fire yesterday but it was'nt the right one, so had to take it back. It was one of those days yesterday when everthing went a bit squiffy, just could'nt get on at all, best laid plans and all that IYSWIM:rolleyes:

Have good days all, back later

    Hi everyone,

Not a lot to report - the bedroom decorating is going very slowly, but DH works such long hours I can't really complain.

Re: breakfast, I used to take my two breakfast in bed on school days when they were in their teens - people thought I was mad but really it was pure selfishness, I wanted to read my morning paper in peace and of course I got lots of kudos for being such a caring mum, lol.

Dinner tonight will be chicken thighs, rice and tomatoes. I'm having trouble adjusting to it just being the two of us again since DS moved out so I'm having to cope with more left overs. On the plus side the grocery budget is way down now that I don't have to buy for a 6'6 man doing a fairly physical job.

I must do the ironing tonight, I am wearing my last work blouse that is decent, stupidly it's the thought of getting out the board and setting everything up that puts me off starting. Think I might do that at lunch time so that it's ready for tonight.
  • Here it is folks!

    Chili chicken garlic balti

500g chicken,in chunks[ if raw, sear gently in frying pan]
    3 Tblsns veg oil
    2/3 onions, sliced and chopped
    can chopped toms
    1 pepper sliced
4/6 cloves garlic, or to taste! crushed
    1/4 pint plain yogurt
    5tspns balti mix
    2tspns tandoori mix
    1 Tblspn turmeric
1tspn chili powder[ add chopped green chilis if you like, as well]

Fry onion and garlic in the oil until clear, add tomatoes, balti mix,and turmeric, stir well, remove from heat add 9 fl oz water, stir and bring to boil, add meat, cook 15 mins, add peppers and fresh chili if used, turn heat down and stir in yogurt with chili powder and tandoori mix, cook gently for 5 mins.Serve with rice and mango chutney.

This can be made without the meat and frozen to use as balti sauce with leftover chicken or turkey at christmas.
    Enjoy :j

    Morning everyone.
    Late on here for me!
Not much to tell. BBQ chicken was FAB last night. Never made my own BBQ sauce before and it turned out fine. Will definately be having that again.
Makeshift for tea tonight as I have badminton, haven't been for ages.
H at home today so feel like I can't get going. Why is it I feel this way? I think I must subconsciously relax when he's around and my motivation flies out of the window :o
Rather cool here (but nice and sunny) and heating has gone one but then it's only for a couple of hours in the morning and evening - I'd survive but I do have to think of the kids. It rarely goes on during the day so they're not molly coddled too much LOL!!!

Cake for breakfast.....sounds OK to me......don't millions of people have danish pastries for breakfast - to me cake is only one step away from that ;)

Jayne & George - still thinking of you. I guess you posted on yesterdays thread so will catch up with that in a mo.

Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to those that need them (either for support or warmth ;))
